Favorite Trail:The one I'm on
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $150.00
Purchased At:Greenfish Adventure Sports
Strengths:Easy set-up, out of the box and riding within 15 minutes. Quiet, set it up in my basement and I can watch a DVD or listen to MP3 player without turning it up. Also it does not disturb the family upstairs, unlike the treadmill!
Weaknesses:Not sure the remote is needed. I set the resistance to mid-level and leave as I use the gears to +/- resistance.
Bike Setup:Trek Fuel with a Hutchison 1.2 slick
Bottom Line:This review is for a Minoura HyperMag 1200R LW Magnetic Trainer w/Remote which I got on sale from Greenfish, 149.99 plus free shipping. It was shipped the same day it was ordered. Set-up was easy, just added the adapter for the smaller 1.2 slick and used the supplied skewer. Gives me the workout I desire. I am not a racer nor training for a specific event, I use it for a cardio workout since I can't run due to joint pain. I would highly recommend it.

Favorite Trail:Afran Forest
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Ebay
Strengths:This trainer is very easy to setup and mount a bike,
Weaknesses:am fussy, paint finish and not enough usefull resistance settings
Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:Coyote Easton hardtail, XT groupset,
Bottom Line:I bought this trainer after breaking my arm in a cycling accident, i read through many reviews and found this cheap (ish) on Ebay.

It was easy to setup, and i could manage it with having only one hand to actually position the bike

I was a little dissapointed that only the really highest setting was any good for me to perform a 30-60 minute workout, but it is smooth, quiet and nice to use

The only other gripe is the quality of the paint finish, it is not exactly brilliant

Overall a good easy to use trainer, and after 8 weeks since the accident i was going to sell it but it will definately keep for those super cold days. This trainer would go well with a heart rate monitor to track how well you are performing

Favorite Trail:Any
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $150.00
Purchased At:Supergo
Strengths:I have the 850 Aluminium model, which might not be the same as the one pictured.

Great trainer, stable, bar adjustment is good. It takes my interval training fine.
Weaknesses:None, good equipment. I think a set of rollers would be nice though as they are faster to set up.
Bike Setup:XC hardtail
Bottom Line:Good trainer, would replace with the same if anything went wrong with it. Trainers are still super boring to use though, only really useful if you're really into fitness or racing ... which I am from time to time.

Favorite Trail:john mur
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $120.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:very very light, stiff, great amounts of resistance, silent(when using slicks) very smooth
Weaknesses:stiff resistance tuner( no need to use it, just change gears for diffrent resistances)
Similar Products Used:cycleops fluid2 (meh). blackburn
Bike Setup:03 fuel 100.
Bottom Line:great trainer only good stuff to say about it, just make sure you use slicks with it or it will be very noisy and will chew up your tires very quickly. I got mine used off ebay for good price, i reccomend doing the same.

Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Realistic pedalling action, quiet, stable, generates heat to keep you warm in winter.
Weaknesses:None
Bottom Line:Over the past winter, I've watched a TV in my garage, fan on, drinks laid out and settle down to 1-2 hrs of endurance base with this machine. It's that quiet (with road tyres) that you don't need to turn the volume up that much.

And come spring, it's stiff enough to handle intervals and sprint work too. For those that commute a lot and don't arrive back home 'til dark, this is a great machine to work on.
In fact, for the budding racer, it's such a great trainer that you risk overtraining and burning out!! Highly recommended.
