Strengths:    Allows you to check and realign the derailleur hanger easily and accurately. Well made product, typical of Park Tools.

Weaknesses:    Not having this tool is a weakness. The tool has none and works as intended.

Bottom Line:
Derailleur hangers are a small part subject to a big job. It is very easy to knock them out of alignment. You may not notice a change in shifting performance at first, and usually they can be adjusted to work fine.
BUT, if you use this tool to check and realign your derailleur hanger properly, shifting will be like when the bike was new, or even better as many bikes may not have the derailleur hanger aligned properly when new. Most LBS will do this service for about 1/2 the cost of the tool, so by the time you use it twice, it pays for itself.
This tool is one of the best additions to my bicycle toolbox.

Strengths:    It works.

Weaknesses:    None

Bottom Line:
If you ride enough, you will eventually hit your rear derailleur on a boulder or crash your bike just right to bend your derailleur hanger. When that happens, you will need this tool to get your rear shifting back to perfect working order. No guess work. No need to buy a new derailleur hanger. This is one of the most valued tools in my kit.

Strengths:    It just works and you don't need to be an expert to fix your shifting problems.

Weaknesses:    None

Bottom Line:
If your shifting is sloppy or your missing shifts all together use this tool to keep things in line. If I could give it 10 flames I would.

Strengths:    works perfectly and easy to use-its a park!!

Weaknesses:    just a tad bit expensive

Bottom Line:
Hmmm my bike would not shift into the small cog and shifting performance was not good not crisp and smooth as it should be. When we used this tool we found out my derailleur was so out of line from crashing and thats why it wouldent shift correctly. Boy what a big difference it made!! You should buy this tool if you ever crash or your bike just isn't shifting like it used to and your neighbors and friends will like it too.
