Strengths:
Compact
Weaknesses:
Leaky, traps hand, pull stroke very inneffective.
Bottom Line:
The pull stroke on this pump is very poor. This seems to be due to either an assembly or a design fault. The 'O' ring that should prevent leakout from the gland is not captive to ensure that it stays where it should be. As a result, it lands at the piston where it is ineffective. Hence bad leakage on the pull stroke.

Price Paid:

Strengths:
Weight, compact, easy to use
Weaknesses:
Dirt can enter valve - protection cap/plug not provided(have cut a piece of thin plastic and inserted under cap to prevent this happening)

Bike Setup:

Bottom Line:
Read a review in Mountain Bike mag that gave the Air Force 4 2nd place, so went out and brought the Air Force 2 (is the same pump, but only one head, that is reversable). Double action, easy to clip onto a Presta valve and it works a treat. Have pumped up two tyres so far and I cant complain. It's compact, light, clips into supplied bracket real good...means nothing will slide out or down, not like my old pump which did this and jammed into the wheel spokes on a corner! As a bonus, there is a choice of colours as well. So...anyone looking for a compact, securely mounted, lightweight double acting pump, go for it.

get somthing useable. I found that the only way to get it to attach to the valve was to take it apart and reassemble it on the valve. Needless to say I lost a bit out of it in the dark one time. The next pump I bought I spent some time in the shop making sure I could attach it to the valve, and yes, I did have it set for the right type of valve.

compact, pretty durable and lightweight, comfortable grip
Weaknesses:
that plastic case may protect the pump from the elements, all right -- but repeated gashes on your leg from the sharp edges gets old REALLY fast

Bottom Line:
[This is a review for a 1999 Air Force 4 pump]
When a pump works consistently, it works... end of story. Granted, less expensive pumps in the market boast greater pumping efficiency, the difference translates to mere seconds wasted in on-trail repair time (insignificant unless you race, in which case you should be carrying a CO2 system anyway!).
This pump's edge as far as I can tell is durability. Mine has taken severe beating from crashes and even a pickup truck runnning over it -- yet, it refuses to quit. Remarkable. This is a pump worthy of highest quality rating, but definitely not the highest value unless you score one at a discounted price.

Strengths:
Small, fairly light, good mounting system.
Weaknesses:
Poor valve connector, mechanism becomes stiff over time, VERY inefficient pumping.
Similar Products Used:
Blackburn Airstik
Bike Setup:
Raleigh Hardtail
Bottom Line:
This has an alloy body and lever, and is a two-stage extending pump. It blows on the in and out stroke. Waste of money. Never has been very effective, virtually refused to inflate Schrader valves at all, Presta were better but the connector is wearing out quickly. Don't buy it, the Blackburn is better-made and more efficient, albeit with fairly low volumes - they have a good range if you want something bigger.
