If using a presta valvue it seems like it doesn't fit properly at first, but attempt to pump the tire and it usually works. If not just reset and it works.

Bottom Line:
I was reluctant to purchase this pump without anyone reviewing it. It was a deal that I couldn't pass up compared to the 40 dollar park pump at the lbs. The sette pump works, but it's not flawless. At first I didn't think it would work on presta well, but I was proven wrong. For the price you won't find a better pump.
