Date Reviewed: October 13, 2009
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $32.00
Purchased At:Performance
Strengths:Well machined, simple, good pump volume.
Weaknesses:Uses o-rings to seal the tube to the pump body. These are easy to lose and without them the pump will not pump beyond 30 psi.
Similar Products Used:Blackburn, crankbros, topeak, others
Bike Setup:Several bike with wheels. . . tubes . . . and tires.
Bottom Line:It works great for presta or schrader, but the o-ring issue needs to be addressed.

Favorite Trail:Alpine @ Oakridge
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Price Paid: $34.00
Purchased At:REI
Strengths:Lightweight @ 100g, compact, HAS a HOSE, good volume per stroke, great looking aluminum construction -- no plastic bits.
Weaknesses:see comments below
Similar Products Used:Older mini pumps
Bike Setup:26er, 29er
Bottom Line:The short hose is stored inside the pump shaft which keeps it from needing to be clipped to the side of the pump. Attach the hose to the pump and then to the valve stem and start pumpin'. I brought my 26" tire from ~18psi to ~35psi in about 40 strokes, which is about 3x as fast as my Cannondale pump, and the hose allows you to get into a comfortable position while you pump. When removing the hose, I did lose a bit of air from the tire, but it wasn't much all -- maybe one stroke's worth. I only mention this because with my old mini, I could pull it off quickly without losing any. There is no gauge, which isn't a weakness in my book, but some folks really want their precision.
