Our newest inflator represents the state of the art in CO2 inflation. IH stands for intelligent head. Our new intelligent head brings several new technologies to CO2 inflation. First, the ability to accommodate either presta or schrader valves in a single, non-threaded valve port located in the front of the head. Just push the Ultraflate IH onto your valve and it will detect which type it is no threading necessary. Then lock it on by bringing the thumb lever up. To inflate just push the red CO2 button located under the thumb lever. Easily control the rate of inflation using our all new light action flow technology. Weather resistant sealed design for nearly maintenance free operation.
Includes one 12-gram non-threaded CO2 cylinder.
Strengths: Insulated handle. Control of co2 flow. Can use either threaded or non-threaded cartridges.
Weaknesses: Seals wear quickly.
Bottom Line:
I bought this co2 inflator since it would work with either threaded or non-threaded cartridges and offered better control over the release of the co2. Its head design also promised a more secure seal on the valve, which I thought would be great since there is only so much co2 in the cartridge. After a few successful uses (4 maybe 5 previous uses), I was attempting to repair a flat halfway through collegiate mountain bike nationals (XC) one year when the head failed to seal to the tire valve, wasting all the co2. Didn't finish that race. Since then I have used the Microflate (no moving parts) with much better success.
Co2 is great if you don't want to spend 5-10 minutes reinflating a flat tire or want to carry something lighter/smaller than a pump (pretty much what every racer is looking for, but I use them in training too). I would go with as simple an inflator as possible (less to go wrong) and as with all equipment, check it regularily so it doesn't let you down at the worse possible moment, as I learned the hard way.

Strengths: It's small?
Weaknesses: Doesn't use standard 12g CO2 cartriges Doesn't work on presta
Bottom Line:
This pump doesn't take the Co2 cartriges widely available in stores for $.50, instead using an oddly sized cartridge that does the same thing and costs $1.50 at a bike shop.
The 'intelligent head' technology isn't that smart and doesn't work on presta. The manufacturer has recognized this and is now including a brass presta adapter with the pump--but who wants to keep track of that?
Come on, guys. Pumps just can't be this hard to build...

Strengths: Light, inexpensive, uses cheap 12g standard CO2 cartridges (by them at KMart or Wal-Mart), easy to use, quick to fill. Also great to speed up installation of new tubes/tires. Has held up well - I fill a lot of tires, mostly those of others who got flats and are having trouble with their pump
Weaknesses: None so far (other than keep a lot of cartridges handy - buy them in the 25 or 50 box packs).
Bottom Line:
Great tool - get two, one for the bike, one for the tool box, and buy plenty of cartridges - takes 2 to fill up most MTB tires.

Strengths: Lightweight, quick when it works
Weaknesses: This CO2 inflator pump, has the design flaw of plastic threads. When tightening the base, mine was apt to cross-thread, thus diminishing the value of the CO2, a good deal would leak out around the gaskets and my hand. Ouch, very cold! I'm going to contact the manufacturer and see about a replacement.
Bottom Line:
Because this one accepts threaded/nonthreaded CO2, I bought it for the economic value. But since it takes about two CO2 cartridges to work, I may have to start using my more expensive threaded-only air chuck. Good luck.
Similar Products Used: The air chuck, by Innovations. This is by far the best CO2 pump I have used, very simpley made, and simple to use. But do not leave CO2 canisters attached to chuck for a long time.

Strengths: Light, fast, small
Weaknesses: A bit pricey
Bottom Line:
I really like this product, I have no problems with it. It seems to work fine on presta valves for me - I've never used it on a schrader. I find this handy little pump indispensible. No more furious struggles with a mini pump. Sure, the CO2 costs money, but it's cheap at Wal mart. I use it on my road bike as well as on my MTB. It's also fantastic for filling tires that use Stan's NoTubes. BTW, my Lab/Newfie got hold of it and really gave it a working over - tore the small rubber flap off, teeth marks all over the place but he wasn't able to bust it open and he's got STRONG jaws! It still works like a charm.

Strengths: Small, light, fast, cheap
Weaknesses: You have to buy CO2 cartridges and inconvenience of doing so, you have to be careful you don't trap your inner tube when inflating. Inflating is pretty much a one shot deal. If you run out of cartridges and have more flats, you've had it -but think: how many flats have you ever had at one time?
Bottom Line:
I got this inflator to put in my seat wedge pack, and obviously since there is an expense every time you use it (i.e. the cartridge) I've only tested it once -I didn't want to have to be out on the road in the middle of nowhere trying to find out how it works! I carry a spare inner tube so will not use this to fix a flat and then inflate.
I had absolutely no problem with my presta valve test -inflation was really quick. For the purpose -inflating a tyre without having to drag along a pump -it looks like this is a great deal.

Strengths: C02 cartridges fit in easily, and seem to seal well. Lever lock and button look nice, feel nice, and may work on schrader valves, but have not tried yet. Good solid construction, attractive design.
Weaknesses: SUCKS on presta valves. I have gone through 4 cartridges 'practicing' on my MTB tube before relying on it in the field, and I can't get it to seal onto the valve. Furthermore, I am unable to install the pump onto the valve without leaking any and all air out of the tube while attempting to 'lock' it on with the lock lever.
The "intelligent head" is a nice idea, but Innovations seems to need better beta testing before product release. Also, it's bulky for a seat bag storage unit, use duct tape!
Bottom Line:
I'd use this inflator for motocross or atv applications(schrader), but not for presta applications. I have no idea how it works on prestas.

Weaknesses: Maybe the "autodetect" valve as it was advertised works on schraeder valves but it sure doesn't work on presta valves. There is nothing "auto" on the the valve. To make is smaller to fit the presta valve you have to use the silver lever which in turn squeezes a rubber ring to make the opening smaller. Unfortunately not small enough. After 6 empty cartridges I thought that maybe it was me, so I asked my local bikestore for help. They pulled a brandnew pump of the shelf and tried it on one of their bikes. After three cartridges the owner actually threw it in the garbage can and says: "Well, I guess I won't be ordering any of those any more". Also the red button that is supposed to control the airflow so nicely seized up several times so that you could not stop the airflow (this happened also in the bike store). This button is so hard to push that I had to use both my hands making it almost impossible for my girlfriend to use (and she is the one I had bought if for). I checked back with the bike store and they really stopped carrying it. This thing sucks !!!!

Strengths: This is an excellent product, packaged with quality and ease of use. I carry it in my bike bag as it is so small. And you cannot beat the fact that you can use the 12g CO2 cartridges from Walmart(box of 15 is $8.00)
Weaknesses: NONE
Bottom Line:
Bottom line, should you be in the market to upgrade your pump..move up to this product for an emergency hand size pump that will save your ass in the woods.

Strengths: Fast, durable, small enough to fit in seat bag. Single port for both Presta and Schrader valves! Better than the original Ultraflate as it has more features. Easiest pump to use on the market today!
Weaknesses: None, this pump is so good you won't need anything else.
Bottom Line:
Innovations Ultraflate IH pumps rock!! It is easy to use and FAST. Secondly, you don't waste time making adjustments when placing the pump onto the tire valve port. It's simply push, lock on, and inflate!!
We have a lot of mosquitos during the summer in Jackson and having a quick tire inflator is essential to avoiding the insects when you have a flat.
