Strengths: Backup hand pump when you're out of CO2 cartridges
Compact and light
Usable for different types of CO2 cartridges (NT16 and T12 within the pump body, all other threaded types using only the pump head)Weaknesses: Handpump capacity is insufficient
Pumphead doesn't seal valve which loses airBottom Line: Second Wind IH is now known as Second Wind MTB. To be able to pump you first have to set the correct valve type using the switch on the pump head. Afther that you can put the pump on the valve. The handpump is operated using the aluminium cilincer and can be used when a CO2 cartdridge is inside. Pushing the red button operates the CO2 pump.
The pump gives you CO2 infliation with the security of a backup hand pump at a low weight.

Strengths: WOrks great for pumping in enough air to make sure things are in place.Then hit it with the CO2.The little hand pump is really slow but better than walking. This pump is better suited to road bike use.Weaknesses: None.Bottom Line: Handy pump. Perfect for the road bike.

Strengths: It works to some degree. Can use cheap non-threaded 8g cyclinders.Weaknesses: Lousy pump. You cannot use the pump with a cartridge in the barrel. 8g won't do crap on a wide 29er tire.Bottom Line: This isn't a "all in one" pump. It's more like lousy mini-pump that can be disassembled and reconfigured as a CO2 inflater. It would be better to carry a normal pump and have a multi-purpose CO2 inflater that could take ANY size cartridge.

Strengths: Swings both ways, baby!Weaknesses: Takes a long time to get a lot of air in it in emergency mode.Bottom Line: If the proper technique is used there is no problem with the way it seats on the valve stem: while the wheel is dismounted from the bike hold the pump with the head pointed straight up. place the valve into the pump head, valve pointed straight down. keep the pump very level and inflate. This keeps all torque off of the valve, which is better for your rims anyway and should be done with ANY pump.
One of the greatest advantages of this pump is it will take the expensive ($3/each) 16 gram bottles or the cheap ($3/box of five) ones available at a sporting goods store next to the paintball guns.
But believe me and try the above mentioned technique for connecting the pump. It works.

Strengths: not muchWeaknesses: hand pump is pretty much useless...will take you a long time to get tire inflated again and that is if your able to do so..have to hold the pump very steady or it will start to leak air ...C02 leaks if you dont get pump EXACTLY fitted over valve...this pump will get you home but thats about itBottom Line: hand pump is only good to limp home..valve does not seal air very well...hand pump stinks...co2 will work but not very good...good enough to get you home

Strengths: All bases are covered.Weaknesses: Hand pump doesn't push much air.Bottom Line: I have used the the 2nd Wind for about four years now and I love this device. Sure the hand pump is small and doesn't push much air...but it's for emergencies. Like any hybred, this is not going to be the best of both worlds...but it comes pretty close and is the best hybred on the market as far as I'm concerned.
It's for those once a year unlucky rides where you've burnt through the two or three CO2s you brought along, covered your tube with speed patches, and your riding buddy forgot his mini-pump. You can pump out 90psi and limp home, or get your MTB tyres good to go.
I've never had the connectivity problems those other weak-wristed, can't put anything on straight-type of folks complain about.

Strengths: Size, versatility, priceWeaknesses: Hand pump a little useless, CO2 seal could be betterBottom Line: Obviously the hand pump is not going to be a major help for a flat. But it helps with the "light" inflations necessary during a tire change. After that, switch to the CO2, which works just fine. Make sure you hold the seal tight, and you're on your way. If you want just a hand pump, don't use this. However, the dual action is great. Plus, fits in my saddle bag just fine, and a riding buddy keeps his in his shirt. Plus, how can you go wrong for $20?!?

Strengths: Great idea... co2 with back up mini pump.Weaknesses: Smart head is a nightmare to engage. Mini pump is virtually useless. Mine started sticking after fouth or fifth unsuccessful attempt to inflate a tire.Bottom Line: This thing left me stranded on two occasions. Worked fine in the garage then totally failed on the trail.

Strengths: SMALL, VERSATILE, PUMP OR CO2Weaknesses: NONEBottom Line: This is the best pack pump I've owned. It has out performed several other pumps and this was on road tires. Pump first and co2 to finish off the high pressure. Pumps to 80-90psi.
It's fast and in the southern summer heat sitting on a back country road with a flat is no fun.

Strengths: Light, seals on schrader valve well, pump works good if you understand itWeaknesses: uncomfortable pump handleBottom Line: I did a test on it last night since the guys below seem to think the pump "blows". For my 2.1 inch M/B tire, I got an increase of about 7 PSI for every 100 pumps (I stopped at 45 PSI - more than enough for even my hybrid to limp home). It does work and it works well. If you want to inflate something faster, carry a bigger volume pump or better yet put a CO2 cylinder in it like you're supposed to. The IH works incredibly well. CO2 kicks @ss. Use the pump to put a little air in a new tube, mount the tire, and finish the job with the CO2. One chili ding for the uncomfortable handle.

Strengths: CO2+ emergency backup hand-pump in a small package.Weaknesses: Hand pump takes a lot of pumping for meager results.Had to use brass valve adapter for good seal on the prestasBottom Line: My at home test showed the CO2 to work fine w/ a brass adaptor valve attached.The hand-pump allowed only 32pds presure after over 250 pumps.Too hard to pump after that,maybe break the pump.Not a bad solution for someone wanting a CO2 as primary w/ a light weight backup in a small package, cheep.Maybe 2 small CO2 heads a few extra CO2s would give the same backup and weight...What do you expect for $20???

Strengths: Great Idea, Small package, lightweightWeaknesses: Hand pump is hard to operate, the smart head doesn't keep contact.Bottom Line: This would be a great product if it actually worked. Forget trying to use the hand pump, it doesn't work. the CO2 works but you have to keep the pump head contacted perfecty or all the air will lak out. I figured for 20 bucks this would be a great product to try but I recommend you Buy a different product.
