Favorite Trail:Wasatch Crest Trail
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Purchased At:Nashbar
Strengths:Power switch, stable, readable dial. On high pressure setting easily gets over 120 psi. On high volume setting generates enough volume to seat tires with Stan's
Weaknesses:Developed leak after 1 year. Crank bros., normally very reliable, discontinued the model and won't stand behind the "lifetime guarantee." It is a shame to see an otherwise great company not stand behind something.
Similar Products Used:Topeak, blackburn
Bottom Line:Great while it lasted. Now to strip it and try and repair it myself. Floor pumps are supposed to be simple and long lasting, but it seems to be "or" not "and"

Date Reviewed: September 6, 2003
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $50.00
Strengths:Super easy action at high (> 100 psi) pressure; easy valve connect with cam lever; simple two hole pump head for presta and schrader valves--still narrow enough to fit 36 spoke wheels easily; nice and stable base; relatively long hose; wide spacing of grips.
Weaknesses:Just speculating but there seem to be many areas on the pump that could fail--eventually. The plastic lever on the pump head might be first to go. The switch between easy action and big air flow could be trouble.
Similar Products Used:Silca.
Bike Setup:Road bikes.
Bottom Line:I bought this because the wife didn't like my Silca--too hard at higher pressures and even with a new pump head it would start leaking air and require reattachment to the valve. "Well, that's the way pumps are," I would reassure her, "and it's a SILCA, the world's best pump!" Apparently fifteen years with the Silca had distorted my view of reality enough that I began to believe myself. Let's just say I stand corrected. Although the simplicity and serviceability of the Silca can't be denied, the Crank Bros. Easy Force Power Pump is superior when it comes to function. If you don't mind shelling out fifty clams for a floor pump, this one won't disappoint.
