Bottom Line:Every home should have at least one can for almost every squeaky need, metal on metal problems, sliding and gliding conditions, especially problems that you want to eliminate for six months or more without repeating an application like other products that wash away in days or weeks. I get paranoid when my can is almost out, seems I can't be without this product. Hundreds of applications, too many to mention here. If you have not use it, try it, I guarantee you will always have a can handy. PS: I am not an employee, stock holder, or paid user. I tell it like it is! God Bless Howard Cosell!

Strengths:This lubricant is simply the finest spray lube on the market. It stays put, due to it's thick viscosity. It has excellent lubrication quality. A little bit goes a long way.

Bottom Line:This is the only oil I pack wherever I go. It will oil a chain, fix a hinge, quiet a drawer, and free up just about any bearing. Get some today.

Strengths:This is the best product for keeping rust off table saws, saw blades, and other tools. Also good for guns and gun parts.
Weaknesses:I lost all my oil because it was so slick it leaked through the plastic container and was completely absorbed by my wood shelf it was sitting on. They need to make a better container. I probably lost about 2/3 of a quart.

Bottom Line:Good rust preventer, but needs a tougher container to hold it. If i buy it again I will transfer it to a glass jar. it must eat away plastic. I haven't used it for engines.

Strengths:PTFE is a chemical additive that bonds to the metal maintaining superior lubricating protection. (and this stuff in reasonably priced)
Weaknesses:You have to clean the dirt off once in a while. It ain't no big deal.
(Get over it, keeping the chain clean prolongs it's life)

Bike Setup:I use a Sram/Sachs PC-99 chain, RaceFace Rings (these are the parts that wear out)
Bottom Line:There is nothing better you can use on your drivetrain.
Pastes don't provide the kind of metal protection needed so your chain and rings wear out faster. It is true petroleum products attract more dirt than parafin based lubes. No getting around. What do you want, a bike that looks good or a bike that rides good? Clean all the gunk off your chain, degrease it, dry it,(I use compressed air), and try it once. From the first few pedal strokes you will notice the chain is quieter. And it moves up the pins more smoothly on the rings. And cassette shift are as smooth as silk.
I have alot invested so I can ride my bike and have fun. I want to keep from having to replace any part before it's time is done. This product will helps me do that.

Bottom Line:Stuff work OK in dry, not too dusty conditions. But if you're doing any wet riding or river crossings you'd better take the can with you to relube half way through your ride. In dusty condition this stuff seems to attract the dirt and you can hear the grit in your chain with each pedal stroke. On the up side you won't have to spend any time or money degreasing your chain as 1-Lube seems to be water soluble. I think this lube should be relegated to fixing sqeaky hinges and use a bike lube to lube your bike.

Bottom Line:I use Slick 50 because I read this review & decided to give it a try. I found that it luburicates the chain well because the chain is so quiet and can last for the whole week in either wet or dry condition. Use a paper towel to clean the chain after each ride [no problem]. Use WD40 to degrease the chain before re-applying the lub again. It is a lot better & easiler than using the white lightning. The dirty gums created by white lightning is harder to removal. The best of all, it is a lot cheaper.

Bottom Line:In canada this stuff seems easy to find, it is in all the stores that sell car stuff. I have only been useing it for a while, but it's cheap and works, say no more.

Bottom Line:Haven't used it yet. I had a hard time finding it. Another post said they thought it was to be discontinued. I finally found it at 2 places using Slick 50's product #43712012. You can buy by the can at carparts.com for $4.99 plus $1.95 handling plus shipping ($5.46 to Tacoma) for a whopping total of $12.40. Another supplier is Heritage Merchandising at 1-800-456-5823 where its sold by the case(12 cans) for $33.48 plus $4.00 shipping ($3.10 per can). You may not need a case, so sell/share with friends and use around the house.
Can't wait to try (based on other posts)--so 4 chilis.

Bottom Line:After reading the positive reviews here I ran to the auto store to get a can. According to the manager of the local Autozone Slick 50 is discontinuing this product. Needless to say I bought what was left for dirt cheap.

Bottom Line:Found this Slik 50 One Lube spray at the Advance Auto Parts store for $1.59 in a 16oz can. Figured I'd give it a shot. Haven't heard from my drive train since. I did learn the hardway that you need to apply it sparingly to avoid gunking up.

If you are careful about this and only use every 50 miles or so or when you just start to hear a little noise (depending on conditions), and wipe the chain with a rag after every application and ride, it will not gunk up.

Also noticed that my chains are lasting significantly longer. I go through about a can a season. This stuff outperforms all other waxes, lubes and etc. I have tried for the money, rain or shine.

Bottom Line:Picked up a 16 or 17.5-ounce (can't remember which) at an auto shop for $2! Makes your drivetrain SILENT and doesn't attract as much dirt as Tri-Flow or Finish Line. Lasts longer, too, and won't fly off much if you dry it off after 15 minutes. Go and get some, and even if you don't like it, you can use it around the house for years! It's only $2-3, anyway.

Bottom Line:this stuff works, and works well. and, most importantly, IT'S REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, CHEAP. i'm paying one third i would for raceday and getting three to four times the amount. plus, it's not much dirtier than raceday (i live in dusty ol' az, so i'd know) and it's much more durable (contrary to what those bullshit raceday ads claim). i still only use one lube on my chain; derailleurs get raceday and cables get triflow. one lube is MUCH MORE lubricative than any dry lube i've tried. application is important, though; i soak my chain in mineral spirits, let it dry, then coat each pivot lightly w/ one lube and wipe it down 10-15 minutes later. i'm very careful to not let it get on my bike, as it will attract dust. still, it's simply the best lube i've tried.

Bottom Line:Excellent lube for your money.I pay 5.00 Canadian for a 350 ml can.
The lube sprays on evenly, drivetrain is super quiet, and lube has teflon which reduces friction and wear of drivetrain.Lube claims to bond to metal to form a protective barrier because metal is slightly porous and the lube penetrates the porous areas which in turn forms a protective barrier.The lube is good for about 2 to 3 rides and then the best thing to do I find is to use WD-40 to degrease drivetrain ,lrt that dry and then apply the slick 50 lube.Leave the slick 50 lube on drivetrain for about 15 minutes and then wipe off any excess(very important to wipe off excess).After doing this you are good to go.

I have yet to find anything better. Sure there are others as good, but most are a lot more expensive. For a couple of bucks you can get a large can and it will last a year. Until I find someting better at a similar price I do not plan on changing.

Good stuff!!! I've used many lubricants (petroleum and parafin based) and had settled on Tri-flow as being the best. Based upon comments I read here, I tried One-Lube. Definitely the best lube I've ever used. I can get 3 good rides between chain re-lubing. Chain also runs very quiet which is sign of a good lube. There is an ongoing dispute regarding which type of lube is best, petroleum or parafin based products. I've tried both and definitely prefer petroleum. Yes is attracts dirt and parafin doesn't. However, the most important thing about a lubricant is that it LUBES!!! If you get a chance compare a petroleum lubed chain with a parafin lubed chain after a couple of rides. You'll find that chain links lubed with a petroleum lubricant hinge much more freely.

A year ago I tried this stuff for the first time. It worked great! I continue to use it as it works well (gets a little dirty like most petroleum based products) is cheap by bike accessory standards, and does not stink up the workshop. I use it on MTB's, road bikes, bmx, track, everything. Hard to beat and a great value for the money!

I use it for normal everyday driving vehicles as well as road racing and off-road. I use Slick 50 in all my vehicle over 40k miles. Nothing beats it for extending engine life. I notice the difference immediately when serviced. The fuel additive I received with my last Slick 50 seemed to improve my over the road driving very well, my mpg is up!!

Bottom Line:

This stuff is great for an all purpose lube!! It attracts a little dirt, as it is not a dry lube, but it is soooo nice. It is a good supplement to your collection of lubes. Just leave by your bike, and if you see something that needs a quick lube, use it. Some things are better, but 1-lube is the best for the buck. A little thicker than many lubes, like a light oil (it comes out in liquid unless you pump hard.) and really works well on chains and pivots. My dog screwed up my triflow can, and this stuff is a great substitute that is real cheap. A little hard to aim without the starw, but you get used to it. Five roasted rats.

Bottom Line:

This product is effective. Because its not marketed for use with mountain bikes you can get it almost anywhere at a decent price. I soak the drivetrain with WD 40 to remove the grit and grime. When the drivetrain is dry I apply Slick 50. This combo works great and until someone shows me solid proof of something better I'll stick by my bottle of 1-Lube.

Bottom Line:

I bought a can of this when I ran out of WD-40. It is a good deal, and it frees stuck bolts just as well as WD, but without the smell. I use it on cables and cleats, too. I tried it on my chain, but it picks up too much grit for my tastes. It also turns in to a gummy paste on your cogs. Maybe I didn't wipe it well enough, but I don't like it for the chain, on everything else it works very well. BTW, PTFE is just the chemical name for Teflon, so why they say it's 500 times smaller I don't know.

Good stuff if you plan to clean your bike often (it attracts a lot of dust), otherwise you might want to use something thicker. If you like this stuff, try TriFlow w/ Teflon. This stuff seems to work better for me. Someone plaese make a catagory for this stuff it's a 5+ for dry weather!

I ride rail trails on my bicycle, about 1,000 miles a year. One lube works very well on my bicycle chain. I also use it to lubricate my collection of Teletype machines. It lasts a long time and stays clean as it lubricates. It is definitely better than WD-40 and much cleaner than the other oils I have used. You also get more for your money with the 6 FL.OZ. can compared to the very small chain lube bottles sold in bike shops. I normally purchase my one lube at WAL*MART.

I decided to give this stuff a try after reading reviews here. Only $3.49 (Canadian) on sale at Crappy Tire. Good value considering that you get twice as much than dedicated bike lubes for half the price. This stuff covers and penetrates well but as other review suggest, do not overapply this stuff and wipe off the excess. I did a 45K loop yesterday that's pretty dry and dusty. The drivetrain ran real smooth and shifted nicely. However, entire drivetrain was covered in a thick black gunk afterwards. I had to get out the degreaser after this ride for sure before reapplying. I don't think it's perfect because it does attract so much dirt but it does protect your chain. I would not recommend this stuff to anyone that does not take the care to maintain their drivetrain regularly.

Bottom Line:

If you are looking for the most bang for your buck then Slick 50 One Lube is the lube for you. At about $3 for a 6 oz. can at Wal-mart it blows away the bike shop high dollar lubes. Shifting is smoother and noise in almost nonexistant. It only has two drawback that I can see, and they have already been mentioned excess flyoff, and dirtyness (It starts to look black after about a minute of riding). Application is extremely easy with the pump. I don't think I will switch back to the costly bike lubes.

Bottom Line:

I was suprised to see this here since it is not a 'bike' product.I've been using this for about two years for chain and pivot points. It is just great. The only downside is that there is a lot of 'fly off' from the chain if you over-lube. Other than that, it can't be beat, especially for $2.49 a bottle at the local Wal-Mart. I've only used a little over one bottle in two years.

If you don't mind a dirty driveline, this lasts longer than any lube available(I've tried ALL the bike lubes in your catalogs and every lube in the auto stores). In wet winter condidtions, it stays less dirty and has become my preference. I finally tired of cleaning the chain, cogs, and rings once a week in the summer and now use the White lube in the dust. If you can stand your partners' disparaging remarks about your dirty ride, enjoy a noiseless chain and only want to lube your bike every 5 or 6 days, use it year-round.

After reading the review of Slick-50 Pro-1 Lube by thomas, I decided to go try some myself... WHEW! this stuff works great, especially on your clipless pedals (I cant believe how easy it is to clip out!).
Anyways, this stuff lasts great through water and mud, but picks up some light dust (though much less than triflow). I would definately recomend it for your pedals (I previously used Boeshield, which wore off every 2 or 3 rides); and I would definately recomend it on your chain for wet rides, but maybe not so much on dusty trails.
As for suppliers, you can buy it at Wal-Mart or any automotive store. It's dirt cheap and it comes in a bright red non-aerosol spray can. Personally I buy the small 2.3 oz. size which is small enough to carry in a seat bag. But if you want a KILLER DEAL I would recomend buying the larger can.
OH YEAH!, one more other thing, it doesn't evaporate and stink up your room, or where ever else you keep your bike.
SO GO OUT AND BUY SOME ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!

Bottom Line:

I have used many lubes in the past, and they all work about the same for me.
Dry lube works good in the dry, wet in the wet. Changing back and forth
between them is a hassle, though, so now I am down to 1, One Lube. I comes
in a pump bottle. The pump will either put out a spray or a stream of lube.
8 ounces is about 3-4 bucks U.S. and you can get it most anywhere (hardware
store, Wal-mart, etc.) I usually put some in a drip bottle to drip on my chain,
and leave some in the pump for when I am lazy.
This stuff is a light oil with PTFE in it (500 times smaller than teflon, they
say). Drip some on, wipe it off, and ride. Some oozes out in the first few
minutes, so I ride around the parking lot/driveway for 30 seconds, and wipe
the chain again. Between rides I spray some on a rag and WIPE the chain free
of dust and dirt.
No rust, no gunk, quiet, and it works. All this for about half of bike
lubes. Light enough not to attract dirt, heavy enough to last. What more
do you want from a lube, eternal bliss? (I would give this 5 stars, but its
LUBE for cryin' out loud. Only got 4 because it is so cheap).
