Product Description

Motorex Dry Lube is designed for riding in dry, dusty conditions and for riders looking for a clean-running chain lube that prevents unwanted build-up. Traditional wax-based lubes only coat the surface of your chain, doing little to lubricate internal chain pins, rollers, and plates. But Motorex Dry Lube uses a unique wax/oil formula that penetrates into chain pins more effectively than other lubes, lubricating your chain inside and out to prevent accelerated wear and tear. In dry, dusty conditions where sand and grit wreak abrasive havoc on unprotected drivetrains, this kind of protection is a must.In addition to lubricating internal chain points more effectively, Motorex Dry Lube?s wax/oil formula also means that it does so cleanly, without the sticky build-up of dirt and grime often associated with other wax-based lubricants.Even better, Motorex Dry Lube is designed to be fully compatible with Motorex Easy Clean Degreaser, meaning it?s safe to use immediately after cleaning and degreasing your chain. Most degreasers and solvents need to dry completely before you re-lube, otherwise the remaining solvent immediately breaks down whatever new lubricant you apply. But thanks to the compatibility of Motorex Dry Lube and Motorex Easy Clean, the degreaser?s solvents won?t prevent your fresh lube from quickly doing what it needs to do. Motorex Dry Lube is available in a 100ml drip bottle or in an aerosol can for fast application -- 56ml and 300ml.Please Note: Per UPS regulations, ORM-D items such as this must ship via surface transport: UPS Ground or UPS Standard (Canada). We are unable to ship ORM-D items Internationally, or to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Strengths:    Pretty good lubrication, you can use it for many things...from chain(pimary) to cables,derailleurs,...It also quiet down your chain

Weaknesses:    I have bought this lube in 300ml spray. In my opinion huge mistake, because the oil is going out under pressure and it goes not only on the chain but also on the places, you don't want it to go(rims etc). So, I recommend you to buy 100ml oil in the bottle. And it also doesn't hold too long being on chain(for about 150km)

Bottom Line:
I recommend you this oil, especially for dusty and dry terrain. But, as I said before, not as a spray.

Strengths:    Biodegredable.(Has been bio for almost 10 years, long before the eco-friendly fashion that others are jumping on right now).
Best at quieting your drivetrain
No gunk compared to other products if you wipe it down with a rag.
Long lasting.
The best lube for dry, dusty colorado trails.

Weaknesses:    Hard to find.
Answer doesn't market that excellent product too well.

Bottom Line:
The best lube out there by a truly environmentally friendly company, commited beyond the marketing hype.
Pour some MOTOREX on and you will feel like you just installed a new chain.

Date Reviewed: July 10, 2006

Strengths:    Cleans up chain well. Quiets drive line noise. Long lube interval.

Weaknesses:    Leaves residue. Must wipe chain after each ride and floss cassette to remove excess lube.

Bottom Line:
Looks like olive oil. Residue marginaly acceptable for dry roadie use but haven't tried it on mountain bike yet. Wet performance unknown. Not as dry as Prolink and Ice Wax. This stuff did remove the grease from a new Shimano chain.

Switching From Dry Lube To ProLink, A Wet Lube

I've been happy with using ProLink for lubing all my bike chains, mountain and road. I did Ride The Rockies, (road bike), and WD40 bike lube techs were giving out a complete bike wash and lube with their WD40 Dry Bike Lube. It's OK but I like my ProLink more, which is a wet lube. I normally don't ... Read More »
