Product Description

The XXX has been designed in the image of its BIG brother, the Halo, and maintains the same quality and attention to detail. This light was created based on our belief that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy high-performance, high-quality lighting without breaking the bank. The XXX houses three of the highest performing CREE LEDs available and emits 1800 lumens. We deliver those 1800 lumens in a solid, anodized aluminum light-body weighing 50 grams. We have maintained tight control over both output and color temperature to give you maximum output with the best color rendition available in the industry. It maintains the unique, low-profile, arched design of the Halo. The unique integrated mounting system also allows unmatched flexibility and convenience in mounting. And if all of that isn't enough, our battery packs boast a 1:1 charge ratio, meaning you only need two battery packs to run continuously. With all Trail Led lights, no compromises have been made in materials, design or construction. Trail Led lights are all handmade in the USA, by bikers for bikers.

Strengths:    Bright in wide range not just a spot! Low clearance also a plus on night trail riding! Also shorter charge time than mi Stella!

Weaknesses:    I've used less expensive lights and experienced issues! No issues with the XXX!PRIC

Bottom Line:
Prices are comparative, dollar for dollar, my money is going for a new Trail Led XXX! It's just the right amount of light! Also with the emergency mode, you have like 18 hrs run off time to walk safely out of a trail if needed!

Strengths:    Super bright, low profile, easy connect,1-1 charge ratio

Weaknesses:    Price, but not comparatively, instruction manual could be clearer

Bottom Line:
The Trail LED XXX is just impressive. But the light output is the last thing that stands out to me, although extremely powerful...

The XXX is powerful in a very different way. What really stands out for me is the low profile design that sticks up less than 1.5 inches off my helmet. With most lights you risk running into low hanging trees and other obstacles, with the XXX I felt like nothing was on my head. I was able to put my light on my helmet at noon Saturday and comfortably leave it for a full 24 HOURS during a race until the next day at noon. I rode for 9 hours in daylight, 9 hours at night, and another 6 hours with in daylight with the light on my head without needing to adjust it and with NO NECK FATIGUE! That is seriously impressive.

In terms of light, the XXX was more than adequate, it seemed to clearly outperform my Serfas True 1500 that the XXX replaced. The XXX is advertised at 1800 lumens and I feel like that is accurate if the Serfas 1500 is on par as well.

This has to be the finest light I have ever had the privelage of using.

Strengths:    Ease of mounting. Incredible amount of light.

Weaknesses:    The plug was tight. After reading on the trail LED site its a noted concern and with time will get smoother. Its been a week since the race and I have had the lights out and my connectors are smooth as silk.

Bottom Line:
Well I have tried it all in the name of saving a couple dollars. Do it yourself kits, Cree, NR and Sefas but nothing compares to the quality of light coming off my helmet with the XXX light. Trail LED is a local business and sponsors one of the summer race series I play in, the promoter offered his XXX for use during our mop up lap at first I said NO my 3 lights are cool. ( one on helmet two on bars) but after some BS about my ghetto set up I caved and we swapped my stuff for one Trail LED XXX. I was floored on how much light this monster was putting out. It takes about an hour and 45 minutes in I find out I am using LOW Holy crap high is Nutz. So we make the call and I have one waiting for me at the next race 24 Palo dura canyon race.
I am part of a four man team and when night falls I am stoked I know this new light is going to make for some great laps. What I never figured is my night laps only added 13 seconds to my best daytime lap.

Bottom line insanely great lighting system all my old lights sadly will be loaners.

Strengths:    EXTREMELY bright for the money. Glow in the dark coating helps to find the light in my gear bag at night (seriously a cool feature). Best helmet mounting system that I have ever seen. It holds the light close to the helmet securely and installs in seconds.

Weaknesses:    Battery charge takes a bit longer than some of the other lights. Of course, this means longer lasting batteries so it's almost a plus really.

Bottom Line:
I have everything from a Serfas 1500+ to old Niterider 350s (used to do a decent amount of night riding and racing). This is one of the most user friendly lights that I have ever owned. I love how they install to helmets. Usually setting up a lighting system on my helmet means a few minutes of cursing and adjustments. It took about a minute the first time that I tried to install it. How cool is that? The light is amazingly bright for its compact size. The light pattern is perfect for all kinds of trail riding. It has a nice focus for distance with good bleed to keep my peripherals in the game. A great light in general; an amazing light for the money!
