Bottom Line:
I was given this light by a friend and it had a dead bulb. I sent it back to Dinotte and with out question they fixed and sent it back- no charge-in 4 days. I run this light with a L&M hid, and prefer the dinotte in ease of use, quality of light and burn time. Great product and great value.

Strengths:    BRIGHT! Good battery life, different modes- brightness, blinking, strobe, solid light. Two batteries are included if you ride for a really long time.

Weaknesses:    Velcro battery strap does not fit large, irregular shaped downtubes. Figuring out the handlebar clamp. Expensive, but so are the rest of the high-end lights.

Bottom Line:
Once I figured out the handlebar clamp had to clamp upwards and not downwards, I was very happy. There was nothing in the instructions about this, but a phone call to DiNotte straightened it out.

If you want a bright, kick-a$$ light, get this one. I like the power button set-up. No matter what light mode you are in, push one of the two buttons and it goes to full power mode. The buttons light up and will flash when the power starts to get low.

This thing is like having a car headlight on your bike.

Strengths:    Mounting System, Price for Lumens, Durability, Light Adjustment Buttons, Smart Charger, 2 Batteries

Weaknesses:    Haven't found any

Bottom Line:
I have friends that have Light and Motion Seca 700 and other brands of lights. For less money I am able to see as much as them at night. After a lot of research I am glad I decided to go with the DiNotte light. I performed my own durability test by accidentally dropping my light from the roof of my truck. Two deep scratches and no performance issues. I would give this light 5 Chilis but I have only used it for 6 months.

Strengths:    Exceptionally bright/clear light, multiple batteries included, burn time (even on high), multiple power levels, easy operation. Srong cable connections.

Weaknesses:    None.

Bottom Line:
Well, I am impressed. My first set of lights (Marwi Elite-Pro 15/20w from 2001) are excellent (still working), but when I used my new 600L for the first time, wow! Could not believe how well the trail was lit up. Like the burn time as well. DiNotte is off and running.

Strengths:    Amount of light, weight, quality construction, extra battery, fully featured kit, customer service, potential upgradability, flash mode for commuting

Weaknesses:    Handlebar mount for 600L sits too high on bars

Bottom Line:
This review is for the 600L/200L combo.

I decided to upgrade my lights this year after running with Vistalite halogens for past nearly 10 years. I agonised for ages over which lightset to buy, read all the reviews and it came down to the Dinotte's and Ay-Up's. I eventually decided on the Dinotte's because of the greater light outputs. I'm so glad I did. This combo rocks!

I use my Dinotte's for both off road and commuting.

Commuting with Dinotte's are great. I can use the lights in flash mode at dusk, and then convert back to normal when it's dark. The amount of light produced makes me seen by motorists which is a good thing for me considering the reputation of Sydney AU motorists and their attitude to cyclists. As it's now coming on Spring here, I've reverted to using the 200L only with the 2-cell battery strapped to my stem and it still produces gobs of light.

Off road, this combo is simply awesome with more than enough light. There's no outrunning the light going downhill. Beam spread is great and it illuminates all of the trail easily and there's no hot spots. I was able to nearly attain daylight speeds whilst using these lights on a trail I regularly use during the day.

Burn time seems to be pretty close to the manufacturers mark. A recent off road night ride hit the limit of the battery including stops and I like the flash and change of the buttons from blue to red to indicate the battery is low.

The extras included like the 4-cell battery, Y-connector, cords and such is an added bonus. It means you can set up the lights in all different sorts of configurations, and you can buy extra lights on their own later on to add to the fleet. Not that you need to, there's enough light already. A 2x600L plus 200L combo seems complete overkill.

My only nitpick (and it is just that) is that the handlebar mount for the 600L makes the light sit too high in my opinion. Maybe a lower profile mount would make this set perfect. Less chance of getting the light knocked off by an errant tree branch or something.

Props also for Dinotte's customer service. Top notch with all questions answered within 48 hours (for me).

My verdict - a great lightweight, long burning lightset with more than enough light for off and on road riding... Love 'em

Strengths:    super bright, great mounts, cheap batteries, lots of batteries, nice controls, runs cool, weight, runtime

Weaknesses:    no 12v car charger

Bottom Line:
delighted the mounts work great on regular and the new thicker mtb bars. It's so bright. once you understand the controls the one button to go quickly to full power is awesome. I run just one light on my bars and do lots of wooded single track no problem. I got the wide beam and also got a spare battery since they're only $30 more for another battery. The charger is teeny and light and super easy to use too. highly recommend these lights! I use this light around my house when the power goes out, too, it's easy to make the helmet mount work on a baseball hat (just cut two slits in the vistor).

Strengths:    compact, light, extra battery

Weaknesses:    I exchanged this light after the original one stopped working in the first week. The replacement seamed to work fine but then the same problem happened again. It seams like there is a bad connection in the headlight cable causing the light to cut out unexpectedly. What’s the use of a second battery when the headlight cable has a problem??? After the second faulty light, I exchanged it for a Trinewt. Same brightness and color but it doesn’t turn off by itself. I should have gotten that light in the first place.

Bottom Line:
Avoid this light unless you like lights that turn off on their own. Unless they fix the headlight I would avoid all Dinotte lights and stick with a more reliable company like Nite Rider.

Strengths:    Well thought out design. Works great bar or helmet mounted. Cables are very secure. Oh yeah, did I say it is Freaking bright! All of the electronic switching is contained within the light engines (unlike others)and works very well. The two Li-ion batteries are great! The bar mounting setup is..well..perfect.

Weaknesses:    Almost none but I'll be picky. When helmet mounted it does stand out quite a bit. I have to tape the extra on the straps down so they don't flap around.

Bottom Line:
Everything (positive) you've read about this light is true. It is bright...real bright. I checked out the current light reviews and I would say the beam pattern photos are spot on. Currently I've been using it helmet mounted. Even when I turn my bar light off I can still see everything on the trail. I am using the standard (narrow)lens. This light has so much spill light I don't know why anyone would need a flood. The only improvement I would like to see Dinotte make with the 600L would be to offer "quick change optics", namely... very narrow beam, standard beam, flood beam and then offer all three with the setup. Like I said I'm picky. At least you have a choice of standard or flood as they are now. It needs to be noted that DiNotte customer service rocks. They have responded to every inquiry I have made. If you buy a DiNotte setup it is also important to note that as future more powerful LED's become available your 600L or 200L might be able to be upgraded by DiNotte. (...at the customer's expense of course ) Personally, I think the current setup is as bright as I could ever need!

Strengths:    Craftmanship, weight, quality, service, brightness, burning time, dimming possibilities

Weaknesses:    ??? sorry, really there are no weakness with this product

Bottom Line:
I have had the best halogen lights (Jetlites), the best HID (L&M) and the super fancy Lupine. I had a 200L and it is an awesome light. The 600L is just the big brother; as awesome as all the dinotte products.
I can tell you that while the Dinotte is not as fancy as the Lupine, it has nothing to envy as far as quality and craftmanship.
I don't think there's competition with Dinotte for the price
And it comes with 2 batteries! 7 hours of light at high.. do the maths
Keep up the good work Dinotte!

Strengths:    Good quality construction. Connectors are very easy to put together by "feel" and seal very well. Very bright light, and good beam pattern (I have the "narrow" beam version). Came with two batteries and the batteries are small and light.

Weaknesses:    Light head is a little heavy when mounted on my helmet. Not objectionally heavy, but I came from a Jet Halogen light where the light head was very light, and I notice the difference.

Bottom Line:
This is a very good light. Claimed battery life is 3.5 hours at high setting. I have gone as long as 3 hours so far with no problems. Having two batteries really extends battery life - plus the batteries are really small and light (especially compared to the brick battery that came with my old Jet Light).

The first light I received from Dinotte had a defect. I called Dinotte and they immediately shipped me a new light head - no questions asked. The new light head has worked flawlessly and I am very happy with the whole system.

Strengths:    Distance, even beam, ergonomic, comes with 2 batteries, all Dinotte lights can use all of their batteries and all use the same charger, flexibility, customer service

Weaknesses:    None that I can think of

Bottom Line:
I've been riding with this light for over a month now - (3 nights a week, 2+ hours per ride) and have to say that I really like the 600L. It gives good, even roadway illumination from the front tire out beyond 200 ft with no hotspots. I am using the "narrow beam" version - I was told by their sales people that the wide beam is really for mountain bikers who require lots of peripheral light, not roadies. I agree - the narrow beam is perfect for road riding. It provides adequate distance for riding near 30mph with plenty of "spread" so you don't feel like you are riding in a tunnel.

The claimed battery life is 3.5 hours for high beam on a single charge but I have not had the opportunity to test that - my longest ride has been just over 2-1/2 hours and I have not seen the "low battery" indication yet. The light comes with 2 lithium ion batteries - not really necessary but a nice bonus.

The light mounts easily to the bars and is very easy to adjust both horizontally and vertically. Once adjusted, it holds it's adjustment very well. It is also fairly easy to move the light mount from bike to bike - a very well designed mount. I hope that Dinotte keeps this mount design for future lights.

A nice feature of Dinotte lights is that all of their lights work with the same batteries and the same charger - even their tail light. That makes things pretty simple and parts are pretty cheap as a result.

The pre-sale customer service at Dinotte was excellent - I hope that they maintain that level of service after the sale. No complaints here.
