Dinotte 1200L Pro Review

The Dinotte 1200L is not a new light but it is the most expensive in Dinotte’s line. It features 8 emitters in two sets of 4 and they combine to produce a very wide and bright beam. It is a great bar light as it really helps the rider track a ton of trail information on the periphery of the trail. It can be used on it’s own or it can be mated with the XML-1 or XML-3 on the helmet to provide a great combination. Continue reading →

Strengths:    Nice strong light -- both broad and narrow. Good for night riding in and out of traffic. The beam is so strong that I sometimes get flashed by motorists in the opposite direction..

Weaknesses:    Reliability - the battery-cable connection was problematic with the light flickering and eventually failing. I had to send it back for repair. Even now I sometimes have to squirt an electrolytic grease in to make the connection work. Also, the battery life light always shows red - Dinotte didn't seem to repair that one.

Bottom Line:
An excellent light - great for night commuting. Still, I wish it were as reliable as the Dinotte tail light has proven to be.
