Strengths:    Good bike mount (safe and secure in any conditions so far), waterproof, decent screen visibility, touch screen, able do route on roads with proper map

Weaknesses:    somewhat heavy for its size, small screen and chubby unit.

Bottom Line:
Great unit. I use it not to get lost in the wooded areas - I don't have a good sense of direction, and I do not like to think of where I am going.

I tried to load the scanned map according to garmin procedure, but without much success. Also, the resolution of scanned image is limited - you might need to stitch your map from a series of smaller maps if you need detail.

Overall great unit, I would highly recommend it despite the steep price.

Strengths:    Good bike mount, decent sunlight view, good battery life, waterproof

Weaknesses:    a bit fat and the screen is small. Garmin maps are a nightmare to unlock.

Bottom Line:
I bought this for a long trip on a new hiking trail in the south of France. The trail consisted of linked up single and double tracks and was sporatically marked.

I got the sketch maps of the route from the French organizers. They plan to have a guide book out in a few years. I was able to mark the route on Google earth, load it to the GPS, and followed the little line on my stem for three weeks. Never stopped to pull out a map the whole trip.

Did the same thing on the Great Divide Route with a track I found online. Zoomed in you won't get more than 20 feet offroute without knowing it.
