Strengths: Effective at poison oak oil removal when used promptly after exposure.Weaknesses: Soap and water can accomplish the same results, with a little more effort. I use Technu when I'm unsure how widespread my exposure is. Technu is only for initial oil removal from the skin, before any symptoms of a reaction. New-Skin has worked for me to protect and lessen poison oak effects on small areas of skin already damaged and suffering (I have never applied New-skin copiously and wide spread).Bottom Line: If you need it, you better already have it to use it in time. It's good when you want to clean up after exposure as well as possible.

Strengths: IT WORKS!!!Weaknesses: Oil lotion that you have to rub yourself down with. Price is a little expensive.Bottom Line: I have been exposed and rubbed Poison Oak many times and after the ride....use Tecnu. It seems to work really well. I once forgot the bottle and got a little poison Oak on my legs. If you ride trails where there is a lot of Poison Oak...USE IT!!!

Strengths: really worksWeaknesses: cost (they seem to have a monopoly)Bottom Line: Don't even screw around... if you get any kind of reaction to poison oak/ivy (and there's tons of poison oak around the bay area trails), use this stuff. Once the rash sets in it's less effective, but it still does work and beats the hell out of suffering for the two or three weeks while the rash goes away (using this stuff eliminates the rash in 2-3 days, and using it right after riding prevents the rash all together in most cases).

Strengths: nice, small bottle, it came free with this anti-itch cream by the same company; seems to have worked to far becasue the few times i have used it nothing really has come up; maybe i got luckyWeaknesses: uh, pretty runny, not really somehting that one can apply with fingerless gloves onBottom Line: i keep it in my camelbak all the time, jsut in case. like i said, it is a small bottle so it doesn't take up a lot of space. i think it is worth it, because poison ivy is like cancer to me; even if i think about the stuff, i probably have it. in fact, just mentioning the term "poison ivy" in this review probably has caused me to aquire it somehow. just so you know how susceptible i am to it. like i said earlier, it is worth it, and has worked so far.

Strengths: Prevents or minimizes the effects of poison ivy.Weaknesses: Cost - YIKES!!!Bottom Line: This product is expensive but does prevent/"cure" the rash which can form after contact with the dreaded ivy oil. After a two week long knock down drag out battle with a rash on my arm (that I was losing) I bought this stuff in desperation. I used it as directed and it cleared the rash right up after a couple of days. Now I wash down my legs and arms after each ride. I will still get the start of a rash now and then... but I hit it once or twice with the Technu as soon as it appears and it is stopped dead. If you ride trails covered in ivy like me and my buddies... I'd say you get the Technu and see if it works for you. I know for a fact that it works for at least three riders in Ohio!

Strengths:
Easy to apply- sense of being bulletproof to poison oak.Weaknesses:
Doesn't work- expensive!Bottom Line: I used to think this stuff was the bees knees, until I realized it wasn't really working. I'd still get oak all the time. Now, I just rinse off with plain ol' water as soon as I can after the ride, and that seems to work just as well. God, this stuff is expensive! And yes, I followed the directions.
