If youAAAve started getting mystery flats, the culprit may be a spoke poking through your old rim tape. Put the Ritchey Snap On Rim Strips around your wheels, and say goodbye to the tiny pinholes of terror. These Ritchey Rim Strips are designed for road wheels, and are 17mm wide.
Strengths: Ease of installation, transferable, withstands high(er) pressures.
Weaknesses: N/A
Bottom Line:
Very easy to install product, works well for almost every application that I have used it in. The tape is pre-sized and can be installed or removed with a plastic tire lever if you need the extra leverage. I have run this tape at pressures up to 85 PSI with no issues, but would not say that the tape doesn't dimple into spoke holes...it does, but not anymore than other high quality tapes.
The tape is a great value at a slightly higher initial investment; it easily transfers between rims, and is removed without gumming up the rim if you need to access the spoke holes. Put a pencil or valve stem through the rim/tape when you are installing it to keep the tape aligned and from creeping on the rim.
