+ Protects the outer chainring from rocks
+ Protects trouser leg from chain oil

- Sometimes outer edge grabs trouser leg

Bottom Line:   
I got this part already used, but in quite good condition and half price. It really does what it was meant to do. No more fear about a chainring damage.
