Strengths: A unique product, that does what its supposed to do.Weaknesses: slight chance that they could snag a branch... if product is ever redesigned it would be good to make them asymetrical (to allow more front coverage. Also a slight chance they could pick up and trap gravel or whatever in a crash. Need to be checked for this when its appropriate to do this, and any foreign object removed immediately. IMHO slight vulnerabilities are greatly outweighed by protection they give.Bottom Line: A unique product and a worthwhile investment for protecting big $ forks. though www.corerat.com site is a little out of date, customer service is quick and flawless.
A couple of suggestions for those that buy these: use a file to bevel the outside edges of the zip strip positioning grooves so that they stay put that much better.
For those that want to bomb proof the mounting of these, consider using heavier guage zip strips than the ones supplied; also it isn't a bad idea to throw a few wraps of duct tape between and above the zip strips as a little insurance in case of zip strip breakage. I used black duct tape so it doesn't even look 1/2 bad.
Finally, if you want to tweak the fitting of these they can be trimmed, also they can be _carefully_ heated with a heat gun and reshaped... just heat them and tape them into the position you want them to cool into. But be careful not to screw up something on your bike with the heat gun, or to overheat them... with enough heat they will sag or melt (or maybe catch fire...who knows)

Weaknesses: Trying to order can't get a response. Anyone had this problem. Looks like a great product if I could get one. Have e-mailed them twice with not response.Bottom Line: Use to receiving an immediate response when orderning. like to know the product is on the way. Not happy with Customer service at this point.

Strengths: tough, light weight, looks cool, saves your pricey forksWeaknesses: noneBottom Line: this is a great investment to protect your cycle, especially for downhillers and freeriders. there's no reason to pay for new stanchions when you can just buy these for cheap and you won't have to worry. personally I think they look awesome too, so that doesn't hurt. a simple, durable, and worthy product for any cyclist.

Strengths: Strong, durable armour for your stanchions. Easy installation. And Great Service from Corerat. Call em today!Weaknesses: none.....Bottom Line: The best investment you could possibly do for your forks. Angie at corerat offers Great Service and is Friendly and Courteous. When I ordered mine online, I was expecting them within a week or so; boy was I wrong, they were in my mailbox the very next day. I was thrilled. Nobody ships anything that fast not even NSMB for that matter !!

Strengths: Everything! They look killer, they are thick and strong and are cheap insurance.Weaknesses: What could possibly be a weakness of something that saves your fork? Obviously nothing....Bottom Line: But them, go to www.corerat.com and order them now. Angie is awesome, quick service and very firendly and personalized, you can always tell when the person in charge of the company is a rider.... they care. These are way cheaper than new stanctions. I had to file mine to get them to fit my fork but that is obvious and only took me 2 minutes. so the bottom line is: They rule. Get some and make all your friends get some.

Strengths: Easy to install, sturdy plastic, doesn't interfere with the function of the fork, and it looks good.Weaknesses: NoneBottom Line: These things cost me just over 30 CDN after shipping and taxes and were worth every penny. Angie was super nice to deal with and shipping was prompt. Buy them so you don't have to spend hundreds to replace your scratched up stanchions.

Strengths: The fork guards are; -inexpensive, -easy to install (4 tie wraps), and appear to be indestructable..at least long lasting...Weaknesses: NoneBottom Line: The fork guard is an absolute neccesity if you plan on keeping your fork from gettting damaged! Even the most minor of falls can damage the fork stantions beyond what your local mechanic can repair. For $16 beans you can forgo the agony of your baby being out of service......costing you wads of dough, etc....

I ended up installing them upside down according to the directions. I think they look better and still work the balls. Base on the fact that Angie called me to save me $ on my shipping, I would say that the service from CoreRat is very good. Order a pair and throw them on (5 minutes top). They'll save you big bucks in fork repair.

Strengths: made from abs plastic, they're sturdy = they don't flap around when ridin ,excellent protection from scratches, cheap price & easy to install.Weaknesses: noneBottom Line: If your going to spend up to a thousand dollars or even more for for some decent forks or even a mid priced fork your insane not to put these fork gaurds on your bike. Scratches = oil leakage. These do what they say they will, protect your forks. Installation only took a couple of minutes. For the price you can't go wrong.
Always a pleasent experience dealing with corerat. Awesome customer service!!
