Strengths: Large DisplayBottom Line: I bought this computer in 2004 for a road bike. I have used it since without much problem but have noticed the same issue with the cord, it hasn't come out too many times while riding but has been a pain when I have removed the computer. I don't think I have changed the battery yet on that one. I bought a second one (Mar 2008) for a new mountain bike and the cable and mount have been redesigned: the cable is integrated into the mount which has metal contacts to hook up with the computer, the cable issue should be fixed now. The display has been changed as well, instead of a dot-matrix display for the current mode indicator it has smaller sections etched (?) into the LCD. I like the old LCD design more but the new one gets the job done.

Strengths: THE DISPLAY IS GOOD, BUT DON'T TRY TO CHANGE MODES WHILE RIDING. IT IS VERY DIFICULTWeaknesses: BUTTONS SUCK, BATTERY DIED AFTER 3 MONTHS, HARD TO REPLACE BATTERY SMALL SCREWS, CHANGING MODES IS DIFFICULTBottom Line: IT IS HARD TO USE. rEMOVING IT FROM THE BIKE TO GOT TO WRK IS A JOKE. YOU HAVE TO FORCE IT OFF. OVER ALL A VERY POOR DESIGN. I WOOLD NOT PURCHASE THIS AGAIN.

Strengths: Big numbers on displayWeaknesses: That stinkin' wire.Bottom Line: A) It misses the magnet going by every once in a while so it doesn't keep track of distance accurately. You can see when it happens as speed drops off for a couple of wheel revolutions. I have fiddled with magnet position to no avail. The wire comes out of the computer all the time and must be fiddled with to get back in. I am selling a bike and this POS is going with it. Good riddance.

Strengths: Easy to read display. Price.Weaknesses: Cable connector. Limited functionsBottom Line: This is the worst computer I have tried in a long time. While installing in on my bike, the connector for the cable to the computer snapped. It sounds like I'm not the only one who's had this problem. Even if it didn't break, I don't see how it could possibly stand up to even the slightest vibrations from off-road riding. In general, Specialized makes good products, but this computer (mainly the connector) is down-right horrible.

Strengths: red color makes it easy to find after you toss it for being a POSWeaknesses: cable plugBottom Line: wish I would of read the reviews before I bought 2 of them. I wanted the red color since I've lost a few in the past during crashes and I bought the cheapest I could find since I only need the odometer and clock. as everyone else said the cable attachment is a joke! not only does it attach to the computer not the holder so everytime you remove the computer you pull on the cable, but the cable attachment is so poorly designed that it breaks or bends the first time you plug it in. I have to say I'm a big Specialized fan but their computers are a waste I wish I could give negative chilis

Strengths: Clean looks, big numbers.Weaknesses: The chord sucks!!Bottom Line: I actually just bought the computer for my girlfirenf Katy yesterday. I mounted it, showing off my handy many skills until this.... The f@#@$ chord spaped were the electrical plug was. I was pissed and emabaced. How does speacialized expect MOUNTAIN BIKERS to buy a competer that has a plug that spaps when installing. What happens when you put some serious hamering with it on your bike.
Today I hope to go back to the store and have them give me another chord. I was very disapointed. Hopefully, in few months my girlfriend will write a more positive review after some miled are clocked in.

Strengths: keeps accurate timeWeaknesses: The plug that goes from the wire into the unit itself wasnt made for normal road cycling conditions. The plug is fragile and will not withstand the least amount of vibrations while riding. It continuously falls out and after repeatedly pushing the plug back in the wear and tear will take its toll, rendering the unit useless.Except for the clock features.Bottom Line: The bottom line is DO NOT BUY this product. Shame on Specialized for making some poorly engineered product and profiting off of it. Have more respect for your customers SPECIALIZED.

Strengths: Large numbers make it easy to read, lots of functions for the $, sleek designWeaknesses: The cord which connects the computer to the sensor on the fork sucks. I have broken 3 cords in less than a month. The buttons do not switch from the computers different functions quick enough. You really have to press and hold it down.Bottom Line: Large display is easy to read, Price was nice too. Didn't like the fact I had to hold function button to get it to change. Dangerous especially while riding. Connector cord was garbage. You would think Specialized would come up with something better.

Strengths: It has a large display and the features are great. It is waterproof and has a really fat cord.Weaknesses: I broke 2 cords and i eventually broke the little pins where the cord goes in. Its useless now. I think i froze it in 20 degree weather because the memory is shot.Bottom Line: If you take it easy on the plug, it is a great speedo. However, if your bars are gonna get twisted and you ride through brush, stay away from this speedo. I paid $30 for mine and the shop gave me my second cord from a display model.

Strengths: The strengths- big numbers, works when the temp is 20 below zero, works in the rain and snow, It still tells the mph while you look at your trip and odometer and everything elseWeaknesses: Weaknesses- The cord breaks and I had to send it back to specialized for a new one and it broke againBottom Line: Since it broke twice but it still manages to work I give it 3 chilis in value but a overall of 4 chilis because of the large number display and it works under extreme weather.
You should buy it if you aren't a racer but you like to ride every 2 weeks or so
Don't buy it if you ride hard everyday otherwise it break like mine.
