Submitted by CAB a Cross Country Rider from Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia
Date Reviewed: November 30, 2008
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $150.00
Purchased At:Jenson USA
Strengths:Design, wireless signal
Weaknesses:Altimeter inaccuracy, cost.
Bike Setup:Trek all-mountain modified
Bottom Line:I first bought one but the altimeter didn't work, after almost a month I recieved a new one. The gap between a GPS reading and the altimeter reading is sometimes up to 150 m. The brand makes you think the device is reliable but no such. Too much cost for not a big deal. Stick with a company with a trusted cyclecomputer history.

Submitted by Oxygen a Cross Country Rider from Canberra, Aust
Date Reviewed: November 10, 2008
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $120.00
Strengths:Wireless, altimeter
Weaknesses:Stupid thing goes into sleep mode after a few minutes. You line up at the start and then go into a race, look down and the unit has gone to sleep to save power. This happens in the 3-5 minutes period and you cant seem to change this setting. So you loose track of the start time and distance. Setup was average, manual is microscopic and needs better flow diagrams of controls.

Bike Setup:merida 96
Bottom Line:Fine for milage training, but come race day it switches off and you have lost the plot.

Favorite Trail:Sherman Branch
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $120.00
Purchased At:Jenson USA
Strengths:None
Weaknesses:Could not get to work properly. No support from Niterider. (Calls or E-Mails) Cost obviously ease of set-up
Similar Products Used:Cateye
Bike Setup:Kona Full Suspension
Bottom Line:Niterider needs to stick with lighting systems. I really felt due to their history this would be a good product. Customer support to this point is just not there. Buy a computer from companies that have been in the cycle computer buisness for years.
