Strengths:
Swing away completely clears tailgate, locks in place so it won't swing back unexpectedly.
Weaknesses:
RattlerStrap cradle not so effective for Y-frame bikes; tube-top adapter allows some sway.

Nice rack, great swing-away feature. Very stable for traditional (straight top tube) frames, not as great for y-frame bikes. Hitch mount also garners fewer dead bugs than the roof rack, and makes no noise. Can accomodate up to 4 bikes, but gets very tight. I wouldn't try more than 3.

Strengths:
Rattler no sway mounts. Keeps you having to waste time with straps to prevent swaying. Also the swing-away feature enables me to access the rear of my vehicle (CRV with door that swings to the right and tire that is door mounted).
Weaknesses:
Arm does not swing down when bikes not on.
Bottom Line:
The price was good for all the features - swing-away hitch, ratcheting mounts, and works well with Honda CRV constraints. BTW. The way to get a good deal on Yakima and Thule bike racks is to first go to Ageebike.com which sells these products for 20.5% below MSRP. Then present this information to Rackattack.com which will take another 5% off as part of their low cost guarantee.
I was able to buy the Terragate 2, Quick Hitch, and an extra Rattler mount, all for less than $300!! - and with free shipping. Using the above method, the ROC-N-Gate is less than $355.
