Strengths:    Swings out and not down. Huge plus when carrying four bikes places. Every piece of this thing is sturdy. Operates very smoothly with or without bikes on.

Weaknesses:    Getting four larger bikes on can be tricky so pedal position is important. Top tube bars are needed for some full frames so best to have a couple of around if you go out with your buddies just in case.

Bottom Line:
My wife did not like the idea of lifting a bike rack after closing her SUV rear lid. So a swing rack was the answer. Also platform rack was too heavy if she needed to remove it and this wasn't quite so heavy. It works like a champ. Easy to use, smooth functioning and makes it very easy to get rear lid access as advertised. Solid rack in every way. Love that it is a two inch receiver so very stout down low. Just wish some of the smaller bike frames could go on with out top tube bars!

Strengths:    Easy to assemble. One key for hitch and bike lock. Easy to fold down and swing out rack. Quick to mount just about any frame style/size of bike.

Weaknesses:    Difficult to get 4 bikes mounted without some work (not as fast/easy as tray mounts). Recommend weight should not exceed 30 lbs/bike if carrying 4 bikes.

Bottom Line:
I really needed a rack to mount 4 bikes, but I wanted a swing out to easily get the gate open on my Yukon Denali, when biking/camping. I considered a tray style rack, but these stick out about 4 feet and when mounted low, it would bottom out on my driveway and probably many roads so the frame mount was my best option.

It's easy to attach and holds the bikes very securely, even various size frames/top tube designs.

Strengths:    This is a great 4 bike rack that allows you to "easily" swing your loaded bikes out of the way of any liftgate/tailgate of an SUV or similar vehicle. Great for trips where the back is loaded and you need inside access and don't want to unload bikes each time. There is a locking Pin feature for your towing connection, a locking cable to wrap around your bikes while on the rack, a swingaway pin which keeps the rack in place when it is off to the side of the vehicle and many other features. All the other Yakima strengths are here as well... this is an awesome rack!

Weaknesses:    I have not found any weaknesses. It is a bit pricey but is worth every penny.

Bottom Line:
I was able to get a pretty good price (almost $100 off list) and it is a serious quality piece of equipment. I can easily see never having to buy another hitch mount rack. The bikes are locked on solid and the ease of use for all the features is amazing. I am very happy with this purchase! I recommend Cracksandracks.com as they had great customer service and VERY quick delivery.
