Weaknesses: Beware of this product! One of our bikes slipped off the mounting cross bar and went onto the highway nearly causing accidents in motorists following. This not only ruined the bike but was frightening to all when trying to get the bike out of the roadway. Yakima says it is our fault for not tightening screws and takes no reponsiblity.Bottom Line: Do not use this product.

Strengths: The rack is rather simple to set up, apart the trimming of the hitch insert. The ability to fold down allows access to the truck. Very stable. As any other hitch mounted rack, keeps the mud of the car.Weaknesses: The straps mark the paint. The plastic fixtures twist with the torsion produced when the bike is not centered (Since my bike is a V frame I need to use the top tube adaptor). To secure the bike from swinging in long trips have to strap the bike to the rack post. Even using the locks, the rack could be disassembled and the bike stolen.Bottom Line: I wouldn't buy this rack if I knew before hand the way it behaved. There are more stable bike racks.

Strengths: Stable, no damage to bikes,ability to open hatch. Gerat responsive coustermer service.Weaknesses: when mixing mt and road 4 is a push , If installed with lock screw on wrong side WOBBLES.GBottom Line: When installed it right, it is stable. It is not easy to put on and off so i've left it on and will be using the rack to carry 4 pairs of skis, I will take the ski adapter on and off. If you take care installing the rack, tighten ALL bolts it works. Also use the toll free number as the people at Yakima work with you.

Strengths: Rack stays in place w/o movement if hitch bolt is tigtened properly.Weaknesses: Straps left marks when used the first time with our new bikes. Called Yakima Customer Support and they told me to use Acetone to remove it. Tried it and Still left some marks. I started to put a piece of cloth in between the cradle and the strap to prevent the bike from getting strap marks (which I wish Yakima added on their DIRECTIONS in setting up the Rack). STRATALOCKS ARE USELESS IF YOU DONT GET THE NUT ON THE BASE WELDED. THIEVES CAN JUST REMOVE THE RACK FROM THE BASE BY USING 2 WRENCHES. Rack didnt fit right into the receiver so I had to cut the small piece of metal in the receiver that is blocking the base from going in.Bottom Line: This rack works great with a few fixes. It held our bikes with minimal movement. With the optional Stratalock which locks the bike to the rack and the rack to the hitch, This is a very good rack for the price (I got it with a 20% discount).

Weaknesses: Warning!! I did all the research and verified at the dealer that this rack fit a Class 1 hitch. Had that hitch installed on my car, only to find the rack can not be used. Turns out per Yakima, the rack does not work with Draw Tite 1 &1/4" hitches....nowhere do they tell you this in their fitting materials. Now I have a rack that does not work with my hitch. Working through the mess this has caused, a mess that if Yakima had been upfront, could have been avoided.Bottom Line: Verify that the rack you buy from Yakima can fit your hitch, don't rely on their web site fit guides!!

Strengths: IT HOLDS 4 BIKES WITHOUT ANY HASSLE OF ROPES. GOOD AND STURDY AND LOCKABLEWeaknesses: IT IS A PAIN TO SCREW IN WHEN IT IS DAR OUT AND ALMOST THE SAME WITH LIGHT. THE STRAPS ARE HARD TO PULL IF YOU BIKE HAS A LARGER TOP TUBE.Bottom Line: it is a great rack and i also recamen if you are a snowborder or skier to get the rack that attaches to it for that. I am a hardcore bmx racer and have use this product for weekend races nationals and state races it is very easy to use and worx great i would stronly recommend it

Strengths: Really does hold 4 bikes securely. Easy to take on and off. I have even used the fold down system while leaving the bikes on (You shouldn't do this) with no real issue. I have not seen any problem with damage to the paint as long as you lock the bike on well. (Be sure to ge tthe new "gray-rubber" bike holders. Durable as hell. Easy to install.Weaknesses: Swings and bounces like crazy. I have to use two strap downs as stablizers between the up/down bar and my truck bed. With the stablizers in place this is not a problem.
The Roc doesn't work with V-frames and some other open frames, inlcuding old style women's bikes without a tube top. THe tube top can open on large frame V-Bikes if the seat post is too high, which can cause you to drop the bike.
Also, the OPTIONAL bike stabalizers are must-have for the ROc. Without them the swing I mentioned above is far worse, and you will scratch you paint. These are really tough to use on some bikes. (Like my Cannondale V) becuase the bike tubing is so wide and the rubber Yakima straps don't fit easily.Bottom Line: One of the best ways to carry 4 bikes, if you are going to stay on roads and if you stabalized the bikes and rack as described. Off road you will just about kill your bikes and rack using this. If you don't modify the rack you will bounce your bikes like crazy.
