Strengths:    Cheap, easy installation/removal, works.

Weaknesses:    None

Bottom Line:
I have two of these we use while in Europe. I bought them 3 years a go and have had absolutely no problems. They mount on round or square crossbars. My wife and I have driven throughout Eastern Europe with our bikes mounted on the Boas. Some of the roads we drive are quite rough and these keep our bikes secure. The rear wheel holder is made out of plastic, but this has not been a problem, We do not leave these mounted on our car year around, but only mount them for our six week annual vacation. Mounting and set up is easy and only takes a few minutes.

S-Works BOA innards

I've received some parts for my S-Works shoes. The old BOA parts looked like this: http://www.bike24.com/i/p/5/1/38815_00_d.jpg (the spools are all plastic). On the new parts however, the spools have small metal tips on them. Did I get the wrong parts, or can I use them? Thanks.Read More »

Specialized shoes-Boa closure reliable?

I'm in the market (casually-my Dominators are stinky and sad looking but intact) for new shoes and I like the Specialized road models I bought a year or so ago. Thinking I might try a pair of their mtb shoes. The ones I'm looking at have the new Boa closure at the top--are folks finding this system ... Read More »

Scott MTB Team Boa shoe question

I am looking a purchasing new MTB shoes, and have spent some time looking at trying Boa lacing over traditional straps. My only concern is I like to have the strap by my ankle extremely tight, and the strap across my metatarsal loose. I need to have the strap across my metatarsal loose due to foot ... Read More »
