Strengths: Great design, locks to spare tire......don't even know it is back there. It is on a 2000 wrangler which has a bumpy ride as it is and the rack works great. The internal lock works well.....add a cord lock for your tires and your bikes are steal proof...... very easy to remove when you don't want it on there. Great product..... and it was only $110 with shipping......Lot of places charge a lot more for it so just look around......Weaknesses: sticks out about a foot from behind the jeep and two of my buddies have just run into it.......your not expecting it to be there........Bottom Line: Great product.....recomend it......
Duration Product Used: 3 months
Similar Products Used: tried a hanging rack of the spare....used a lot of staps and was not very sturdy.........looked at the yakima version of the surco as well.....a lot more $$$$$$ and it only held two bikes......
Bike Setup: 1 hard tail and one full.

Strengths:
Simple to install and remove. Very sturdy. No straps..... bolts to spare tire mount. Locks in place, and you can lock your bike at the mount with the integral locking system.Weaknesses:
None yetBottom Line: I looked at many rack designs, read many reviews, and decided to stay away from racks with nylon straps used to attach the rack to the tire. This product is mounted by bolting the unit to the spare tire mount, so there is little or no movement...loaded or unloaded. I highly recommend it to anyone with an external spare tire.
