Strengths:    Opens wide enough that you don't have to adjust skewer to get bike in/out. Adjust once and it opens plenty for even MTB fork removal. Skewer is one haneded operations which is nice when you are supporting your bike. Clutch SD mounts directly to Nissan and Toyota factory truck bed rails.

Weaknesses:    Black paint fades pretty fast in sunlight.

Bottom Line:
Hands down the best bike option for truck bed transportation. Works well with the 15mm and 20mm adapters as well.

Strengths:    Best fork mount I've ever used. Easy to adjust and close/open easily.

Weaknesses:    NONE

Bottom Line:
This fork mount rack is amazing! The closure system beats the pants off any of the competitors I've used on my other trucks. If you have a Toyota, it mounts right too the factory rail system. You won't be disappointed.

RaceFace Narrow/Wide Chainring 1x9 setup. No clutch mech?

I'm planning to go to a 1x9 set up from a 2x9. I don't really use my small chainring (24 tooth) and my big ring (38 tooth) is just impractical for climbs. I am planning to go somewhere in between. I will be using a 32 or a 34 tooth RaceFace Narrow/Wide chainring for a 1x9 setup with no chain guide. ... Read More »

Reliable source for XT rear derailleur shadow clutch stabilizer

Like many (most?) others, my XT clutch stabilizer broke where the tension adjustment screw connects to the cam. My LBS had a repair kit in stock but didn't have many. I've been looking online to order a couple spares (sad that I have to treat this like a wear item...) but haven't found any relia ... Read More »

No 9 speed rear mech with clutch?

Hi guys. I ride a 1x9 setup and I love it. I see no reason to "upgrade" to 1x10. My XT rear mech is on its last legs though (caught a couple of sticks in the recent past) and I'm starting to look for a new one. Doesnt have to be XT but I like to keep my drivetrain Shimano for various reasons. I do ... Read More »

how quiet should my XTR RD clutch keep me?

My 2012 XTR RD/Shadow Clutch does reduce chain slap while riding, but there's still plenty of noise on the bumpier sections. I was just in Canada watching the latest World Cup XC race, and watched many of the pros riding super rocky sections without any noise at all. I assume many of them were u ... Read More »

FWIW-Shimano Shadow + RD Broken Clutch

A heads up. Shimano seems to have reversed there stance on dealing with the issues related to the Shadow + clutch failures. Prior to my last experience dealing with them. I've been very disappointed in Shimano's dealing with this known issue. It has effected many consumers. Ive been riding on my bro ... Read More »
