Strengths:    carries 4 bikes, any variety with adapter. ability to tilt with bikes in place. great with the tailgate. easy to install and uninstall. Easy to use even for me and I have a spinal injury/partial paralyses.

Weaknesses:    no photos avaialable when i purchased this. it sticks out far off the tow hitch making parking difficult if you like to take your bikes to cities, like we do. Can't leave it on when not it use. It doesn't fold up in any way and it's big so when you put it in the back of the durango, it takes up a large space and wont fit if you have passengers fully loaded. Can't use a carwash with it on. With two bikes loaded, the washers on the main bolt imploded and the rack swung all over the back while on my trip back from miami. Dodge put a larger washer on and I tried again and the thumbscrew stripped when I tried to put on my daughters beach cruiser (with adapter). So I took my second summer trip, without my bikes. very disappointed. Even without bikes and the new washers, there's a lot of movement tho I never got to try it a second time with the bigger washers. It's hard to lock all four bikes on the rack.

Bottom Line:
The bolt is smaller than I've seen on other racks since this happened. Even worse, according to my service person, once you buy a dodge accessory it belongs to you whether it functions like they said it would or not. They offered to replace it which will hopefully fix the thumbscrew issue but I don't see how it's going to stop the rack from swinging right and left. I bought this rack based on these reviews. The dealership tells me I'm the first one to purchase it thru them. I wonder if they changed the design?

Strengths:    I have a GMC 1/2 ton truck with a topper. Because of this racks design, I can open the topper when the bikes are on. I can lower the tailgate when the two forward bikes are not on. I never had to tilt the thing back even though that feature is available. As the others have said, this thing is a brick ****house. I took this on a 3500 mile Southeastern loop with 5 bikes attached. (I would not recommend over 4.) Close to 200 lbs over some bumpy mountainous roads. It never flinched. The thumb screws hold bikes secure in channels and it will hold a fat tube bike and a regular top tube bike at the same time. I never used the straps it came with. Extremely heavy duty.

Weaknesses:    My twin sons have Mongoose Motivator Minis BMX bikes. These have fat tubes and the clearance between the top frame tube and the bottom frame tube is less than 3" There is a big plate at either end of the 1.5" square tube mounting crossbar. I had to cut this plate down to allow these bikes to slide on. Clearance still was not that great and between that and having five bikes I scratched them pretty good. No big deal in their case. I also had to modify the hole that went into the reciever. It's diameter was too small to allow for my locking hinge pin to fit through. While I had the drill out I also drilled through the two top mounting plates to allow for a padlock to be positioned there. This eliminated the need for a locking cable, unless you're concerned about your wheels. Only other problem is when there are no bikes on and rack is still on, it sticks out quite a ways.

Bottom Line:
Solid. Not a rack for sissy's.

Strengths:    Completely shake and wobble free; constructed of very thick tow bar steel; safely lowers to allow access to vehicle hatch interior while the rack is FULLY LOADED; bikes are secured to rack with large thumbscrew bolts that hold bike tightly, yet are cushioned in a rubber-lined channel, precluding need for "anti-sway stabilizers" that are required by other designs; bike frame won't scratch or become damaged; has another detent position a little lower than vertical to allow access to area between bike and hatch to facilitate securing the bikes in that area; when loaded, bikes are well clear of vehicle and road; rack finish is impervious to rust and fading; comes with anti-wobble bolt with security allen head; two bikes are placed in front of and two in back of vertical support post for perfect balance; 10 velcro straps for securing handlebars etc are included; easy to use.

Weaknesses:    NONE. This is the perfect bike rack, obviously designed by people who actually use this product!

Bottom Line:
There are NO frail webbed straps with plastic buckles to secure the bike to the rack! There are steel clamps and bolts. This unit will NOT be a liability for you at high interstate speeds. Don't be afraid to drive...fast if necessary. Your bikes are going NOWHERE with this rack!

Strengths:
Stongest bike carrrier you'll ever find!!!! Best bike rack you can buy probrably, goes right into a standard 2 reciever hitch, this rack is the strongest rack i've ever seen in my life, it is actually made out of 1/4 hitch steel!!, is has very secure bike mounts (holds 4) made out of pure 3/16 steel, even comes with securing straps for the bikes and a lockable hitch pin that is very strong, this whole thing is extremely stable, over bumps this thing virtually does'nt move!!, make sure your truck's or suv's rear springs are tough or else you'll have some rear end saggage because this bike carrier is heavy!

Weaknesses:
none and no one ever better say that there are any!
