from Knox TNDate Reviewed: January 4, 2010
Strengths: Well made, handles road and MTB. Does not affect handling, at least not the way I ride.Weaknesses: Price, a little difficult to adjust from road to MTB for changing wheelbases. Lot's of strange looks and questions when stopped. You'll loose your rear trunk rack so buy the Johnny pack too.Bottom Line: I'm very happy with the Johnny rack, and would recommend it to anyone that wants to ride a motorcycle to the trail head. I was tired of driving a big V8 truck just to get my 28lb MTB to the trail. Very rugged too- I dropped my loaded bike in a snow storm going over deals gap, the jrack held firm with no damage to my new MTB.
Favorite Trail: Haw ridge, Tsali, Dupont
Duration Product Used: 2 Years
Price Paid:
$450.00
Purchased At: Johnny Rack
Similar Products Used: Tried to make a ghetto version from old rack parts but did not trust my design given the possible results if a bike gets ejected.
Bike Setup: Suzuki Vstrom 1000, with hard bags.
