We got this right before leaving for a biking vacation. We were tired of our old rack scratching our bikes. First off, shipping was quick! We didn't think we'd have it before we left. 2nd, my husband who loads the bikes mainly and does the whole set up process cannot say enough good things! We live this rack. Easy to use for us both. Doesn't scratch our bikes. We have no issues getting to tilt the bikes away from the bed without the assist that can be purchased. Pin has a lock onto the hitch along with allen wrench needed to undo it so i dont feel this would be easily stolen like some reviews stated elsewhere. We do jave a bike cable we lace thru the tires for extra security in case we go somewhere and dont want bikes removed.overall, owning this for less than a week, we love our investment with 1up and highly recommend spending the money on a quality product.

Weakness:

While we have no issues using a bike cable, a way to lock the bikes on would be a nice option.

Strength:

Strengths: aluminum, easy to secure bikes to rack

Weakness:

The rack has some serious design flaws. The first is that the bar that locks into one of the three receiver slot pairs may not fully insert into the receiver slot. For example, one side may not fully insert into the left receiver slot or the right receiver slot. The second issue is that the rack is not prevented from going past the 3rd receiver slot pair, so if there is a failure, the rack will fall to the ground and drag on the ground. These are very serious design flaws. Knowing the design issues, I absolutely would not buy this. I conveyed the issues to them, and they told me someone tested each of the slots. But when I sent them a video showing the issue, they said that I might have caused the issue in the three weeks I had the rack. I might have to take them to small claims court due to the defect. Waiting for the owner to call me back.

Rack works as it should, easy to load and unload bikes

Weakness:

For everything else being so heavy duty about this rack, the security lock they send you is thinner in diameter than a pencil. Would be very easy to snap. For some reason they make it to where a regular size hitch pin could not fit through the receiver area. They made the area so thin that only the lock they send you will fit, with no other option to use a stronger normal size hitch pin lock. Not sure why they use this design, very disappointed, Don’t feel comfortable with it being so unsecured. A thief could probably get this lock off in less than 10 Seconds. And i will agree with the other reviewers that customer service is not the greatest. I was trying to support a made in the USA product, and in dealing with the customer service rep, he seemed to be very apathetic and bothered to have to deal with the questions i was asking.

Just got the super duty rack to carry our 2 Rad Rover 6 Plus and Rad Rover 6 Plus step thru bikes. They are heavy with 4" fat tires. I ordered it with the fat tire kits installed, as well as the V-style ramp to help load these heavy bikes. Lugging them up there is not a wise idea. Although I plan on using it with our 5th wheel camper, I am initially testing it behind my Ram 3500 pickup. I had to order a 2.5" adapter, reducer, so the rack's 2" tube will work with the truck's 2.5" receiver. It took a few minutes figuring out how to make the adapter work. Not hard, just not very intuitive initially. Our bikes are heavy, 70+ pounds each with the battery, and large, so I was concerned about getting them both on there. Not to worry, a tight fit but they fit well. I had to change the location of two of the fat tire adapters so they would fit under the rear fenders. The bikes fit well on the rack and look very secure.

Weakness:

On the minus side, the V-Ramp is barely wide enough for the 4" tires, but it works. They could have made it with more of a grippy material. loading by myself takes some effort as you are powering it up the ramp, and easy to get the rear tire spinning. Not good as you are concentrating on keeping it on the ramp and the rack. Might not be so bad with a smaller and lighter bike. The rack comes with a lock that slides through the receiver's holes. it is a two-piece design with a rubber spacer that creates a snug fit while only presenting the two fat ends and not the pin itself that might be easier to saw through. Unfortunately, with the spacer, the pin is not long enough to engage the lock on the other side, so off came the spacer. This may not be an issue with the 2" receiver and no adapter.

I've been a user of 1-Up racks for nearly 10 years. I absolutely love the quality and durability of 1-Up racks; so much so, that I recently bought the Super Duty for our new fat tire e-bikes and requested 1-Up to install the expansion kit for fat tires; perfect! The Super Duty is burly, and heavy, and I have absolutely no complaints about the rack. Why a 4 out of 5, you may ask? Well, with this purchase I also ordered the loading ramp to go along with it. The problem I have is that the loading ramp is only wide enough for 3-inch tires at best, so if you have a true fat tire bike loading it and its 60-75 pound girth is quite the challenge if you're loading it solo. Anything wider than 3 inches does not fit IN the ramp and rides up on the rails making the rack extremely unstable causing it to lose contact with the spacers on the trays. I'm glad I have the ramp because lifting my 75-pound fat tire bike onto the tray is not a stimulating thought, but buyer beware that loading a heavy bike solo using the loading ramp is quite tricky. I recommend the ramp because, really, there is not much choice, but just be warned it's a flawed design in my opinion. Ride on!

Weakness:

No weaknesses in the hitch, trays, or ratchet arms.

I have the 1Up Super Duty version for two bikes and love it. It is as solid as a rock on my truck and the bikes really don’t move at all. It’s very easy to load and unload the bikes. I like the super clean look, very solid build, and how it folds up close to the truck when not in use. I’ve been keeping it on my truck full time because it is easy to get out of the way for loading things inside. I highly recommend the EZ Pull accessory and the Fat Tire Spacers which handle bikes up to 4” wide tires. I believe if you order these when you order the bike, it will come with them fully assembled, which will save you about an hour of wrench time.

Weakness:

I really can’t think of any weaknesses and I’ve driven about 2,000 miles with mine already. Great product.

I used to recommend this rack, but have had multiple critical failures with their parts not staying locked into place when driving. Their engineering looks slick, but is not well thought through and their 100% warranty and customer service is false advertising. I still don't know a better solution, but don't bet on them for the long haul.

Weakness:

Poor customer service, poor longevity, poor warranty.
