Favorite Trail:up or down
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $72.00
Purchased At:e-tailer
Strengths:Hydrapak, quick disconnect at bladder, remove entire bladder with tube in bag still, makes for easy fill & cleaning, ZERO taste from bag & tube on first use with RO water. Air flow on back & shoulder straps are excellent. Shoulder strap & back padding is perforated for air flow, removeable waist straps, small insultated thermal pocket for gels and such. Storage pockets within main storage.
Weaknesses:Draw straps do not have velcro at the end for shortening the excess dangling like a Camelbak Mule does.

Camelbak Rogue 2001
Bike Setup:80mm XC FS
Bottom Line:Overall the this hydration back is awesome. The more I use it, the more I like it due the bladder/tube design by Hydrapak. It's a well thought out bag.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:Gift bought at Helen
Strengths:Compact, yet carries up to 3L of water. Plenty of room for wallet, keys, phone, GPS plus some extra gear. Has built in straps for a helmet and other armor. Drink tube clip is very handy, and the clip to hold the bladder is very nice. Looks great too!
Weaknesses:Only "weakness" I had was a bad/skunky smell and taste. I cleaned out my bladder and drink tube with dish soap, baking soda, and hydration pack cleaning tablets, nothing solved it. I think I narrowed it down to the drink tube, possibly the material itself, which is the root of the bad smell and taste. I contacted Dakine about it, and they sent me a new bladder, drink tube, and valves FREE as part of my warranty (even though it was a gift, all I did was ask for a new drink tube). Great product and even better customer service.

Bike Setup:2008 Kona Lana'i stock
Bottom Line:Awesome product, so far everything I have purchased from Dakine has been great. The customer service is just as good as the products they sell, and you won't go wrong with this hydration pack or any other Dakine product. Definitely look at this hydration pack if you are in the market or one!

Bike Setup:08 Fisher Big Sur
Bottom Line:I'm seeing both 70oz and 100oz listed for this pack. For a 2-3 hr trail ride on a hot day, the 70oz is definitely not enough (I carry 2 extra water bottles).

When looking for a hydropack, my main concerns were: the capacity, sweat/heat absorption, and the fit while riding. I got lucky and chose this one, which is perfect.

Favorite Trail:Horsetooth Mtn Park- Horsetooth Falls, Waltham
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $55.00
Purchased At:EBAY
Strengths:Looks really awesome if you care about that and its the perfect Size for everything i need to put in it (Pump, patch kit, tube, minimal first aid, keys and phone).
Weaknesses:None Yet
Similar Products Used:Camel Back Mule
Bike Setup:Santa Cruz Heckler
Bottom Line:This pack rocks. I have zero regrets. Its durable so far and saved my spine when i flipped over the handle bars the other day. It holds enough water for me to do about 2.5 to 3.5 hours of riding. I got the digi camo one and it looks sweet. If your in the market for a hydration pack, the Dakine Drafter is a great alternative to camelback and other brands.

Date Reviewed: January 14, 2008
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $55.00
Purchased At:online
Strengths:Looks awsome and holds my stuff and lots of water. Before I thought i just didn't drink much water but if you've got 2 liters strapped to your back you can drink at will and I drink much more, which is probably better for me. Solid construction and serves as a 'hold all my mtb stuff together so it's not all strewn everywhere' bag and serves it's purpose well.
Weaknesses:I wish it had a zipper thing in the backpack strap to put the bite valve into while i'm not using it. Without one the bite valve just kinda touches everything all nasty everywhere. I guess if it doesn't bother you than who cares. Hell, I don't even care that much.
Similar Products Used:Water bottle and under-saddle bag
Bike Setup:'07 Specialized Rockhopper Disc
Bottom Line:An awsome looking hydration pack that holds your stuff and seems to be made with quality materials. I don't see why I'd need another anytime soon.

Strengths:Great design, Small and stable when riding, very versatile
Weaknesses:quick release on dakine bladder is on the bottom corner wich can become pinched off or come of when removing or installing bladder- not a big deal though
Similar Products Used:old northface backpack- no comparison
Bike Setup:07 rockhopper comp disc
Bottom Line:Perfect amount of storage for all day rides, very impressive fit and design
