Hammer HEED
The ONLY choice whenever you want a sports drink
Hammer Heed is a major upgrade and welcome change from the endless number of sugar-based sports drink powders. HEED gives you the same convenience, but without the added simple sugars (glucose, sucrose, and/or fructose). Simple sugars severely limit the amount of calories you can efficiently digest and utilize, and they can also lead to wild energy fluctuations. HEED’s all-complex carbohydrate formula supplies you with the ideal amount of calories, provides consistent, long-lasting energy, and is easily digested, even during intense exercise.
HEED also provides a full-spectrum and easily assimilated electrolyte profile, not just salt and potassium, the usual electrolytes found in most other drinks. For many athletes, one or two scoops of HEED will completely fulfill caloric and electrolyte requirements; others will find HEED an excellent base from which to add a few Endurolytes capsules. Whit chromium polynicotinate for maintaining stable blood glucose levels and l-carnosine for buffering lactic acid, HEED truly deserves a place of its own in the world of powdered sports drinks.
Whenever and wherever you desire an all-in-one sports drink mix for your exercise nutrition, heed your body’s desire for a superior fuel. HEED is the only choice you need to make.

I've been using a spectrum of Hammer products for the last couple of months of base training. The main result I've noticed is a reduction in cramping. Heed has a very mild and somewhat creamy taste which takes some getting used to. Its not foul tasting, just don't expect Gatorade or Endurox.
Weaknesses:
It tastes like the dogs butt the first time you try it. By a blessing of nature, the human mind can get used to anything over time... Now I've grown quite fond of it. Actually, its got a mild taste unlike Gatorade or Endurox which may be a good thing during really long events.

Bottom Line:
You gotta drink something while out on the road and trails. If your spending lots of time and money tuning your bike and body for big race efforts why would you neglect your nutrition? You owe it to yourself to fuel yourself correctly. Hammer seems to have a winning formula for a wide range of race durations. The fact that I'm not suffering night cramps since switching to their products makes me a believer.

This is the best product for sub two hour rides available. I even use it on three plus hour rides, I just mix two scoops of Perpetuem with three scoops of Heed, and off I go. Due to the fact that I live and train in hot, sunny and humid South Florida and that I'm a naturally heavy sweater to begin with I constantly need to replace my electrolytes when I'm training or racing. I have found that HEED benefits me the most while cycling particularly when I'm racing, when I all I need to do is lean down and take a sip out of my stragetically placed drink bottle, which is located between my aerobars. I accomplishments two main things using HEED while racing, replacement of my electrolytes and the precious savings of time that might be the difference between me losing and winning.
