Strength:

nice volume fast corners well

Weakness:

pricey , a bit of tire deformation more than iv'e seen from my other tires

I had a Ikon on my front and it was washing out a bit too much in the corners, switched to the ardent race, and am not losing my line , I ride mostly on hard pack, with surface sand, and The larger sized side knobs work for me. I''ve had it set up tubeless on 2 different rims, no problems and holds pressure

Strength:

Rolls fast
Cornering ok
Puncture resistance good

Weakness:

The name says Ardent. The grip not

I have been using the Ikons for about 3 years now. This year I tried the Ardent Race. The idea being more grip.
Comparing the two mentioned tires: the Ardent race weighs 100 grams more. I do not get regular punctures, so I cannot comment on the puncture resistance.
But for the life of me I am not able to see any significant performance differences between these two tires. Cornering, rolling, gripping and tire life on par with each other.
That said, I like the Ikon very much for the riding I do. Mostly marathon stuff. Just don't expect anything else from the Ardent Race.
