Strength:

Lots of travel for a 29er.

Weakness:

Could be slightly lighter. (but then again, if you want to spend more money....)

I have owned this bike for about 3 months and ride 3 times a week mostly on single tracks. I'm 51yrs but have always considered myself reasonably quick down hill (yes even at 50 plus you young bucks) even on my hardtail I could keep up with most people. The new Sumpjumper just makes what use to a near death experience, into stupid grin on your face experience. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hardcore by any means, but I love this bike. It might not be the best at any particular thing, but its very good at a lot of them. If you want one bike that does everything well, this is it.

Strength:

Bike actually takes to the trail extremely well...Carbon fiber frame is a beautiful understated mate grey... Takes downhills like mad and actually loves to jump, biggest difference from my Anthem x3... Very strong climber (read somewhere this was a weakness) completely disagree... After components change the bike dropped from 28.8lb (no pedals) to 27.4lb (with XTR pedals)...

Weakness:

None so far... only three months old...

Bought this because I wanted more travel than what my Anthem X3 XTR had... Was worried if I made the right move as I was only able to sample an aluminum at my LBS parking lot... After talking to some other Stumpy owners I went ahead and pulled the trigger, this bike Rides awesome...Not cheap but well, It's Carbon... You can upgrade anything as the frame is worth it... only 27.4lb on XL frame after all upgrades... No regrets at all, bikes ROCKS!!!

Only thing needed is to upgrade wheel sets... Will report on progress of reliability and strengths and weaknesses in 6 months...
