Strength:

I chose the pike 426 over the 454 because it has the steel steer tube,it is lightweight compared to my past forks and has more travel plus it is adjustable. I wanted a 20mm axle with 5''.

Weakness:

stock spring is rated med. weight for 140lbs.
Flexible.

this is the best fork I have had. very smooth but...I needed the Xfirm spring 220lbs so i wouldn't bottom off a curb. Now, this fork is great. wind it down to 95mm lock it out and climb your heart out. then at the top let it that 140mm do its job. Maxle is great just wipe down the threads every so often and don't over tighten it. This fork is a little flexy side to side. Even with standard quick release my MarZ's never twisted like this. I have reached 140 hours of ride time and no problems just scratches on the lowers. I want to service the fork but if it aint broke dont fix it comes to mind. I removed the red rebound cap so i wouldnt lose it( heard it falls off) I have raced this fork DH. hit big jumps and ridden like a mad man on it off lots of drops never a harsh bottom though I do see on the dust marks all travel is being used. I suppose it could be more supple to the small jitters, but I run the heaviest spring. the lock out I run hard as possible. I have hit 3' drops locked out a few times and havnt blown anything. Just what i wanted To bolt on a fork that was smoother had more travel and significantly lighter. turns out i dont have to fuss with it either.

Strength:

plush, looks heavy duty, 20mm axle

heavy

wanted to go fox, but the price of the pike is way way lower than a fox with similar specs. Just settled for these but I was blown away with the buttery-smooth as fox damping and extreme adjustability. service of these forks are also way cheaper than fox. I am now officially a rockshox fan.
