Customer Service

let me get this straight. we spend thousands of dollars, end up sending the electric trike back like 5 times for them to fix the items that never worked to begin with. i could go on, and on, and on. so, after fixing the parts on it that never worked to begin with, they have the audacity to charge us for picking it up, and delivery! I wouldnt spend another dime in this train wreck of a store. ah, the beauty of being a local and the almighty word of mouth! Derek Amato - Ingenious Minds - The Discovery Channel

We've been customers of Conte's for years. Bought 5 or 6 bikes there. Previously, they've been pretty great about service. The last two visits was not like the past. It's as if they are trying to lose their customer base when others are doing everything to keep their customers. They are putting the hard sell on service options. They didn't test ride my husband's repaired bike before returning it to him. What kind of reputable bike shop does that?! Also, they accused my husband of the mistake they made. Really not a good idea. Guess they want to see how many customers they can lose, and they've definitely lost this one!

I did buy a specialized bike from Conte’s but I’m sorry now that I did. Back some time this VA Beach Conte’s seemed to care about their customers a lot more. Now you are greeted by a woman (longer brunette hair) that clearly displays an “I don’t care” or “I’m too good for this place” attitude, another younger gentleman who just wants to sit around on the bikes and not wanting to make a sale. The woman has no real understanding of bikes at all, I think she’s just there for looks if that’s even needed. Seems the mechanics are good but the floor sales are horrible. Great selection if you want to deal with people who shouldn’t be selling!

Neet and they know there bikes. but they will not pay any mind to you if you are just looking. they dont really remember faces unless you really show up and show major interest in buying something from them.

Customer Service

I really dont mean to bash on this bike shop just cuz they have to make a living. but you know, what they are is dishonest. I have been there many times and i act like i dont know anything about bikes. they really try to sell you something even if you are not interested in it. what really got to me was that they tried to sell me a bike that was clearly not the right size for me. i am 6 3 and i do not fit a 19 in bike, and then they told me that they dont make the giant trance he was showing me in other bigger size than a 19in. Right there i knew that he was just out to make a quick sale as he saw i was serious to purchase a new ride. He even said that i can take the bike to do some freeriding and take 4 to 5 foot drops. as big as i am 270lbs i would blow out that tiny air shock. and guess what, if that breaks they will have to fix it and charge me to do it. how convinient for them.

Do your research before you go to any bike shop. read up on the bike you are looking for. what size you should have and the price you can get the bike for online. Be careful.

Similar Products Used: Charge way to much for everything. Very expensive. Good selection of products though. Great place to see products and try them out then just go and purchase online for much cheaper.

Horrible customer service. Repairs are half-assed. Nobody has any knowledge whatsoever. Salesmen are pretentious pricks. Avoid this bikeshop.

Customer Service

All the employees act like they'd rather be dead than be at the bike shop. A customer walking in is a big inconvenience.

Avoid this bike shop. Just about every other bike shop in Hampton Roads is better.

Large inventory of bikes.

Customer Service

Do Not Go Here. Though they have a huge inventory, the customer service is horrible. They will wait on you hand and foot until you by a bike, after that they could care less about your bussiness. I wiil never shop there again, nor can I recomend this store.

This is for the south side shop. Nice selection. Nice shop. Seen very knowledgable.

Customer Service

Watch out on special orders. Didn't tell me they would charge me shipping and tax. you go to the bike store not to pay shipping. When I complained, he offered to take it back with a 15% restocking fee. So I was out the 20 bucks either way. A bit of a rip off. Thing that got me was that he knew he was ripping me off.

Great shop, plenty of inventory. I would not hesitate to buy anything from them. Very knowledgeable staff as well.

Customer Service

A little disappointed in a special order I placed with them. I waited for nearly a month when I was promised the item within a week. I eventually recieved the item but repeatedly had to deal with employees that did not know the status of my order, could not find out the status of the order, and didn't seem to care that I was still waiting for the order...

Bottom Line - I would continue to shop here if I was still in the area.
