Wow! Customer service was terrible! The workers and the manager was very rude during my shopping experience (bum rental) I highly encourage management to get their employees in check.

Customer Service

The worst customer service experience of my life!

Summary: Outset. Avoid them at all costs. They are spiders. They shouldn't be in this business at all. They will ruin your trip. So stay away and there are nicer bike rentals in Moab than these guys.
Now the actual story: We (me and my wife) booked two high end road bikes for rental ~1.5 months ago before our actual trip to Moab. We stayed in Moab for 5 days and had a great time hiking and enjoying Moab. Our third day was supposed to be the most exciting day, since we planned to bike that day. We both were very thrilled. Went to the shop. First turn down was I had booked a 2014 Pinnarello for myself and this is the main reason, we booked with Poison rather than going to Chilli Pepper whose rental is $10 is cheaper. But when I went to the store, without even any apology, almost like a demand, they said they don't have the 2014 Pinnarello of my size since someone crashed a week ago. To me this is dishonest and they should have called me and told me about it. In that case, I would have cancelled my booking and booked it with Chilli Pepper. But since we were in the spirit of enjoying our time in Moab, I didn't make this a big scene and the sales guy was accommodating enough to let us rent the previous night itself. So I let it go and was accommodating this. They offered me another Pinnarello of much higher size so I said I will give it a spin for few hours and if it didn't fit and I will come back and change it the next Morning. My wife had a 2014 Trek Madone women series bike. Here comes the second turn down. The bike had a big crack in the frame (top bar). Considering carbon frame, I should have totally rejected it but this was my mistake, again trying to accommodate since the sales guy said this is no problem. So we took it. He was supposed to note down this damage in the rental agreement but he didn't and I just took his word and didn't check the agreement before signing it. Second mistake of trusting these guys. But actually the guy who did this was honest and reasonable and rescued us as you would see later.

The next day I checked into the shop and changed my bike from the unfit Pinnarello to a disappointing and boring Trek which had driven a lot before. My whole idea of checking out the Pinnarello is out of the door. Having taken all these set backs in a very positive stride and not wanting my trip to spoil, I didn't even raise a red flag to the store yet. But to my dismay, one of the manager was serving me the next day and he was so unfriendly and very unethical and treated like I was renting it for free and he was doing me a favor. He also refused to take the bike in the bike rack which rented it from them by paying $$. He said I don't understand that these bikes are very expensive (I own a very expensive bike and I know what a Carbon bike is) and I said I can't use these cheap racks to hold them. When I politely pointed out it was rented it in their shop (he didn't know before) and their guys only helped me put it on the rack the previous night, he kept quiet.

We had a great ride although the bikes were not well maintained and they are really not in a good condition.

Now comes the biggest of all this. When we returned the bike, they said we broke the bike (my wife's) since the guy who rented it to us wasn't there on the returning day. One of the other manager had insulted my wife saying there is a no way they would have rented the bike. I wasn't aware since I was waiting outside looking at some of their other bikes. She has fight with them that this is the same way they rented the bike. But no, they don't believe. Finally we are made to leave the store as if we are at fault. We two versus five of them. All with the same cheating attitude. Luckily the guy who rented to us, attested that it was in that condition when rented.

So now decide, whether you just want to rent a bike and enjoy the ride or have to go through all of this. I always look for yelp (and other sites) for review before I purchase and I hope this review helps my fellow readers not to go through the same painful episode like me.

But we (having a plenty like this) took it as a laugh and had a great time in Moab. By the way two days later, we checked out Chilli Pepper and they had nice Giant road bikes and we took it for a test ride and it was in a decent condition and the guys were great there. So next time, I'm going to Chilli Pepper and will stay far away from these spiders.

Best shop in the four-corners states. The mechanics know an incredible amount about so many products and techniques. My uncle who has raced and ridden for over 40 years echoes this feeling and says it is one of the best shops that he has seen in the whole country.

Customer Service

Unparalleled

Customer Service

Like others have commented on....front of store staff sometimes can be a little cold. I can't comment too much on the wrench shop objectively because I know someone who works as a wrench and he is a great guy. I will say this, I think the front sales people get beat up sometimes by very annoying and demanding customers who can be rude. So, I think if I had to deal with that stuff all day I'd be a little "cold" too. Does it make it right NO, but I can understand. I witness one customer harass the front sales staff and the customer didn't want to listen or cooperate with the kind and professional sale guy was trying to tell him. The customer was pissing me off too, but the sales person just smiled. So, I think it works both ways. Unfortunately the customer is always right and that is the cost of doing business.

Atitude, Atitude, Atitude, After spending a big wad of cash for a 1 week rental. I wanted to install my PT for training, purposes. They then charged me to install their cassette on my wheel.....
Are you kidding me?. So I pay it. The bike they rent me was "played out" the grips were worn through, so I rotated them, the front brake lever wouldn't return to position after being squeezed.
I came back for shifter and brake adjustments after day 1 and listen to the mechanic make fun of my PT, with the other mechanics. He said that I was stuck with the brake the lever the way it was. I went back to the Hotel and rotated the grips, and rode "around" the bike issues. My buddies bike he rented there was flawless, BTW.
I bought shorts, shirts, and stickers while I was there. Next year I bring my own bike and shop elsewhere.

Customer Service

The 2 female staff, that helped me with my clothing purchase were great. Otherwise the dudes, won't help you.

We rented mountain bikes for 3 days from Poison Spider and had great bikes and service. We also rented a car rack and put one of our seats on the bike rather then use theirs. They were perfectly happy to switch seats or petals is needed. We rode with out feet not clipped in.

Poison Spiker also let us return the bikes at night for safe keeping and pickup in the AM.

Customer Service

We mainly dealt with Rolf who put two 50 year old women on the right course for our adventures. Rolf suggested Bar M and a little Bar O the first day but ofcourse we ended up doing all of Bar 0. Probably a little too much for us for the first day but we had fun. Finished up the afternoon with some exploring in Arches....wonderful!!!

Second day Rolf had us go to Dead Horse Point State Park which has a new trail (1 year old). What a blast. This one we both LOVED and would go back to in a minute. We finished up exploring a little in Canyonlands after Dead Horse.

Our final day was spent doing Klondike Bluffs but not before trying to do some of the Soverign Single Tracks but we were out of our leagues here, atleast the first 1-2 miles. We went back to what Rolf origiannly told us and did Klondike. Wonderful. The hike at the end of the work is worth it! Just a 1/2 mile to fantastic views of Arches.

The shop is organized with a lot fo great gear, all at premium prices. Their swag is reasonabley priced and well designed. Shop

Customer Service

Our customer service experience thus far has been excellent. I overbooked a Felt Virtue by one day and they pulled that day and did not charge me. They were ever helpful with getting the bike set up for her and then telling us some great places for newcomers to ride (Bar M Loop and Klondike Bluffs). We were not disappointed one iota. Everyone was super helpful.

I didn't see any disappointed folks in that crammed shop, with exception to thos who may have been in for a quick purchase and go. The tech that was setting us up gave us their undivided attention despite a crowded house. No good for the in and outters, but excellent for us who were dropping a fat chunk of money on bike rental and extra gear.

I have to say that PSB is by far my favorite shop in Moab. I come from Tahoe every year to ride Moab for a week with a group of guys. We are not easy on our equipment and we need mechanics that know what they are doing and a full serve shop to fit our needs. These guys/gals have always been there for us. Their mechanics are extremely knowledgeable with our bikes and our abilities. (T.J. is the man! In the shop or on a bike!) The retail side is a little pricey but that comes with the territory. I wish Tahoe had a shop that cared about riders they way these guys do.

Customer Service

The shop guys are super friendly and personable. I have had many repairs from cable/housing, bent hangers, wheel truing, rotar truing, shifter adjustments etc. etc.. They can do any major repairs too but they will offer a quick fix most of the time. We usually show up late and these guys know the importance of a good quick turnaround. Many times they have taken care of us in the time it takes to shower (another shop bonus) and most of the time the adjustments/truing they do no charge. Usually once a trip my bike needs an overnighter! The front of the house is more typical retail store. If your spending some money they will bend over backwards. But even if you don't they will talk all morning with you about trails, rides or any other coffee talk. They love to ride too and it seems like they are not secretive about "the goods" when I ask.

We are there once or twice a day. In the morning we stock up on tubes/info and sometimes catch a shuttle. Then in the evening we drop off our bikes and hit their shower. We love them, give them and Brian from Porcupine Shuttle a try. Tell them the guys from Tahoe sent you!

Not able to keep rear tire from rubbing on a hard tail rental bike - I don't know anything else about them.

Customer Service

Sorry - I arrived to Moab on a Monday afternoon. Rented a bike for 4 days - paid up front. Went and rode that evening for 3 hours with rear wheel rubbing frame. During the ride, I receive word of death in the family. I take off to Denver to catch a flight. My friend turns in the bike on Tuesday with no refund. I call and get ONE day refunded. Lousy bike, lousy customer service - lousy experience with this shop. There are plenty of other places to rent bikes. Only positive is that they were very polite and nice while telling me that they don't care.

I know that it may not be fair to post a review with only one experience - but since I will never have another experience with this shop, I feel inclined to do this.
