Bad experience that could have been avoided. My buddy and I planned a trip to Moab from out of town, and called to schedule a shuttle up to Burro Pass a few days ahead of time. The guy that took our reservation required a CC, so I figured they were running a good operation. I was wrong.

I was told it was a slow season, which I understand. But he promised us that if a shuttle didn't run (they needed 4 passengers), they'll make some calls and arrange another ride for us with another company. He also said he'd call us to let us know what was going on.

We show up at 8am for an 8:30 shuttle (were told to be there by 8:15am), and were told the shuttle wasn't running. The girls at the desk literally laughed at us when we explained what happened. They didn't make any phone calls on our behalf as promised, and didn't seem the least bit concerned about how they came across.

Even at $50 ($25x2) they aren't losing any money, and the good will it would have generated to run a shuttle at "break even" would have resulted in a 5 star review. But it's clear they do not care about how they treat folks, so I strongly suggest you frequent a different shuttle and different bike shop in Moab.

I took a group of scouts to Moab and rented bikes from Moab Cyclery. I rented the bikes for 2 days and paid them well for it. Right from the shop one of us got a pinch flat, which wasn't a huge surprise. What was a surprise is that two of the four tubes that the gave us already had flats, which caused us to get stranded on the trail twice. Jacques has zero customer service skills and should not be running this place. For a group of 9, I could barely get him to give me more than a couple tubes and patch kits each time we went back to the shop. The second time we came back they again gave us tubes that were already popped. 2 of the bike techs told me that Jacques orders the cheapest crap he can find and that this happens quite often. Additionally, Jacques tried to charge us a late fee for being a few minutes after 5, even though all his techs were busy working on a line up of bikes already. I have rented from many other shop in Moab, and I will never return to Moab Cyclery. Put your money to better use at Poison Spider, or any other shop that will treat you well.

Customer Service

Jaques = 0. Everyone else I dealt with were ok.

On my trip to Moab (April 2-9 2010) I took advantage of their very competitive price for a one week rental and got to ride a Santa Cruz Tallboy and an Ellsworth Epiphany. I can't say enough good things about them as a store; from the folks that secured my reservation to the guys in service who got me quickly and kindly set-up and out of the shop - everything was smooth. My friends and I also took advantage of a 9am shuttle for Porcupine Rim mid-week, when we were too lazy to ride out of town, and everything went very smoothly and on time - well worth the money.

Customer Service

Excellent - I'd rent again from them without blinking and I am seriously considering buying one of their rental bikes (fell in love with the Epiphany) - their entire fleet is pretty sick.

Been to Moab Cyclery and rented bikes 3 strait years now. Found them after a bad rental experience at Poison Spider. They have the absolute best bikes for rent in town, and for my money the friendliest and most helpful staff. Its awsome to be able to try a sweet Ellsworth and Santa Cruz on the same visit to Moab. Cool jerseys and a stacked shop, too.

Customer Service

Always had excellent service here. When renting a bike for 5 days brought it in after 3 for a couple of adjustments and was treated like royalty and fixed up in minutes. Great "local" advice on trails and town. Thanks David!

Overall, I don't think this is a bad place. Seems like they have a good selection of parts and accessories, and most of the staff seem friendly and helpful. One knuckle head wasn't and I think it was the manager/owner.

Customer Service

Again, everyone was pretty nice and helpful, with the exception of the manager.

I might use this shop again if they have a rental I want, but will VERY carefully inspect the bike myself before taking it out and have low expectations of some of the employee customer service.

Rented an Epiphany and took it back to camp to get it set up to my liking. The shifting wasn't quite right and dialed that in. The chain was still slipping and come to find out, it had at least one twisted link. I put one of mine on for the day and switched it back before returning the bike. Additionally, there was air in the rear brake line, which made for sketchy downhill runs.

These little issues wouldn't have been that bad, but when I brought the issue of the air in the brake line up to the manager, just to inform him so the next rider wouldn't have to deal with it, he said "well give it a full tune up and we'd catch it then." I said well, you didn't before I got it and he replied that there wasn't air in the line when the bike left the shop. I tried to let him know it was missed and he Emphatically denied it. He started to cop an attitude so I didn't bother to tell him about the chain. Additionally, my buddy rented a new Blur LT2 and almost crashed his brains out in the parking lot because there was only about 5psi in the front tire.

I come to the Moab area from Boulder on a regular basis. Usualy with friends but often alone to enjoy some peaceful riding. These are truly the best trails in the world. I have had repairs done at Moab Cyclery quite a few times. The mechanics are very knowledgeable and will drop what they are doing to help out with a quick repair. They were also quite willing to give advice in order to to do your own repairs while out on the trail. I have been riding for many years. These guys are truly some of the best.

Customer Service

Excelent! Tubes, tyres, wheels, etc. etc. The staff is very helpfull. They were even quick to tell me what I realy did not need. It is comforting to know that they were not just trying to get my money. What was realy nice is that they remembered me from the first time that I was there.

This shop is one of the most fun shops I have ever walked into. The bikes that they have are the Gucci and Ferrari (if thats how you spell them) of Mountain bikes in town. I flew down Hazard on their Ellsworth Truth, it was great. They had everything that I needed and wanted. They had the exact bike parts that I needed to repair my Isis, and installed it for free of charge!

Customer Service

They welcomed me immediately and helped me with so many question that I had about the trails and bikes. They made laugh and feel very comfortable, Jonny was great he suggested us to some great trails which we enjoyed emensely!
