I have found this shop to be quite informative and helpful.

Customer Service

Customer service is excellent. When they are overwelmed with customers,it may take a little while, but when it is your time, they take the time to explain and are thorough. I have been a customer for many years, and they have always come through.

I won't be back. This was one of the worst customer experiences I've had anywhere including dealings with insurance companies, health care conglomerates and air lines!

Customer Service

In 3 visits I found out the service here is horrible. I'm a 20 yr bike industry vet and my experience at Bike Line Bethlehem should be an example of how not to treat a customer.

A jacket I purchased at this store failed the first time I used it. I know full well the "Just riding along" story and wanted to make sure this was truly a manufacturer defect/issue. I checked the company website, the jacket tags and even contacted a sales rep. Knowing that I'd done the research and that I wasn't being a douche I thought the conversation would be friendly and straightforward.

Not even close. As soon as I noted the issue the owner bristled and immediately became defensive. He insulted me. He made clear statements indicating he did not understand the construction or technology of the jacket. Importantly, he never asked to see the jacket so he could understand the issue - how could he really know if it was under warranty or not? His response was to attack.

The jacket has since been replaced by the company with recognition that this was a warranty issue.

I was really disappointed by this experience b/c my first encounter here was great and I understand them to be decent mechanics. Notedly, the first visit I dealt with a different person. I supported these guys b/c they support a team mate with mechanical service. I was purchasing from these guys with the intent of using this shop more and more b/c I was trying to show my appreciation for them helping my friend (which is the point of sponsorship - give something so you get more back). Of note, I could get this way cheaper through friends in the biz, but wanted to get these guys the cash.

Also, it was evident the owner did not understand the technology (which is why he didn't understand the warranty.) He suggested that the membrane that failed was inside the fabric when it was on top in this case. He also said, 'I would expect any membrane to wear off' (even those in GoreTex, which shows a misunderstanding of that technology) 'in one use.' I don't like it when I know more about a product than the person selling it - that gives me little confidence in his ability to match me with what I need or provide service after the sale.

Shop is clean, but over priced. I recommend getting your bike, and your bikes maintenance's elsewhere. Hard to cut deals with the owner. I find if you are in the Lehigh Valley, Nestor's is a better choice. Nestor's provides free maintenance for a year, and if you know the mechanic for the life of the bike.

Customer Service

Service is slow, took two weeks to get a tune up, and the tune up cost $60 that is a joke. I have never been to a shop that charged $60 for a tune up.

The bottom line is.. it is your choice where you get your bike, if you are looking to spend a lot of money, and get ripped off you can go to bike line!

I've had nothing but good experiences with this shop. Allen is very helpful and has built the most durable wheelsets I've ever ridden. He built my Klein Q-Pro twice (the frame was replaced after snapping the carbon fiber rear end) and I've literally never had to touch the wheels. I am a pretty lightweight rider but I'm very abusive to my road bikes as I never hesitate to jump on and off curbs and take off-road shortcuts.
