Always had a good experience here. 2 yrs ago my wife and I bought bikes here. It was uneventful. Put them on lay a way and when they were paid off bikes were fitted to us. I recently had to get a second bike due to mine being damaged in an accident. Got a fair amount for my damaged bike and a reasonable price on the new one

I have been a employee of Les Plaines for three years and i have never found any of the things Richard Rathan is saying to be true. The poor review written by Richard Nathan is not because of any poor customer experiences but rather because of a personal grievance with Les the owner.

As an employee of the shop for the most part of the last decade, I must say the Richard N.'s review of the shop, primarily of the owner Les, is drastically off. It is not true that high end product is being phased out; we just received 300 new Spec. bikes. Prices are flexible and just based upon the the service during and after every sale. Finally, I have not seen Les, lie nor cheat to customer, if anything our employees are some of the most open and willing to assist in the area, if not the NE region. Although Les might ramble on, he does not badger. Mr. N simply has a personal ax to grind with Mr. Plaine.

This place has been turned into a Walmart parking lot. Les Plaine has returned and is fazing out all but the cheapest bikes (read: highest profit) for the inventory. Plan on spending higher than MSRP on bikes and accessories. And if that's not enough, with Les on site, you will be badgered and pressured until you run out (if he doesn't stand in you way).

Customer Service

Les Plaine has fired or forced out almost every quality CS rep in the business. He continues to alienate the community of serious and casual riders. You will not get a fair deal, a well tuned product, or competent follow up. Les will lie to you, cheat you and short change you. He also owes Broadway bicycle in Albany, and a soon to be opened shop in Malta. Stay away from this business, please!

Everthing you would ever need, and if they don't have it - they know how to get it quickly. Tons of know-how and they work fast. HUndreds of bikes that I wish I had the money to buy.

Customer Service

The crew there is wicked friendly - no question. Sometimes they are too busy to stand around and tell stories, which is a good thing, as that tells me they are concerned about getting their jobs done first.

Plaine and Sons is a full service bike shop. They are also a full service ski shop if you are into that sort of thing.

Customer Service

Plaine and Sons customer service is second to none. They are there to help novice riders and experienced riders alike. On the other hand, if you don't have any questions for the staff, they let you roam the spacious store and shop on your own. The bike repair department fixes the problem the first time and in a timely manner.

This bike shop is just a chill, laid back spot to hang with fellow bikers. Plaine and Sons has been providing bike sales and service for generations and they still do it right!

I visited Plaine and Son one day to see what their shop had to offer. I bought a new bike a month before hand and I wanted to see what replacement parts I could buy from there. The staff was nice, albeit very small, and they had a nice selection of bikes available. One of the bikes I was originally interested in buying and that I could only find online was sitting front and center in the store. That made me happy and upset at the same time, lol. I only browsed at their selection but have yet to purchase any replacement parts for my bike.

Now the repair shop is where I have an issue with this store. I brought in a bike one day for them to replace one of the parts on the bike and tune it up for me, where they gave me an exact quote on the job, and they gave me a 3 business day turnaround for completion (brought it in on a Tuesday). Friday came around, and I called them up to see if the bike was ready for pickup, only to be told that it has yet to be worked on. Come the following Tuesday they called me back and said the bike was complete, but instead of replacing the one part I requested, they replaced the one part PLUS 2 other parts that I specified did not to be replaced, thus bumping up the price of the repair plus tune up significantly. I don't mind paying for them to replace other parts but not when I specifically told them not to and to only replace the one part specified. Once we got the bike back we tried it out and it still worked the same as before, as if the part replacement and tune up was nonexistant. All in all, I will not bring my bikes to them for a tune up.

This place is HUGE! I rode all the bikes i wanted to try inside while it was raining. The sales person was great too. He taught me everything i needed to know and didnt push me to buy. He let me choose what bike i wanted and told me if i didnt like it, I could bring it back! They really took care of me and gave me FREE service for a year!

Customer Service

The staff was very knowledgeable and very helpful. He gave me a good education while i was there.

This place is Huge. Service Department turn around time is very quick. Staff very eager to help. Shop gives back to community, and utilizes green practices. You are able to test ride indoors and out. Matched internet prices.

Customer Service

Greeted right away. Staff consists of former pro racers, and all riders. Very eager to get you involved into the sport, possibly too eager. Gave me lots of information on local trails, and groups to ride with.

Huge shop, no service

Customer Service

Customer Service sucks. Also would not trust the service department. This is also a ski shop and I took my skis in for a tune and really messed up my edges. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Stay away!!! If they can't work on skis, then I would assume the same care goes into their bike department...
