I recently moved from NYC to a neighborhood close to the shop and went there to buy a new helmet. Everyone there was very nice and helpful. I am going to bring my Gary Fisher in there soon for a tune up.

This shop a hidden gem in Douglaston. The owner, Jerry and his wife are usually upfront to greet you. Very relaxed shop, no pressure, wide variety of bikes on the floor. Guys there are always eager to help. Bought 3 Santa Cruz Hecklers from them, and will most likely buy our next bikes from this shop. Highly recommend this shop, THANKS JERRY!

This is a great shop. I’ve bought two bikes here and they make all of the adjustments at no charge for the life of the bike. You can’t beat that.

Customer Service

The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable.

Awesome shop. The sales floor isn't as large as some of the other area bike shops but the selection of parts and bikes available make this my go-to shop. Add to that a knowledgeable and friendly staff that is active in the local MTB community and what else is there?.

Customer Service

Jerry and Kenny have helped me save money and find what I'm looking for in terms of upgrades and accessories on numerous occasions; so I don't know what that other reviewer is talking about. I got a steal on my xtr pedals, reverb seat post and have spent ample time just chewing their ears for riding tips, bike maintenance, and how to otherwise get more out of the sport and my riding and have never felt rushed or as if I had worn out my welcome.
Things can get quite busy when they get a wave of customers as Jerry and Kenny handle sales and most of the tech side also. For me this is just added piece of mind since I have a mechanic helping me choose my new parts, who then is the same person who installs them and is there to tell me how things went and looked when I pick it up; although most things can be and are done while you wait. Jerry and Kenny are not the only staff members but one of them is always in the shop and they are who I have the most experience with. Jerry's wife is also sometimes in the shop and there are a couple other staff members who's names escape me (sorry guys) but I have never had anything but positive experiences with all of them.

Finding a good LBS and getting to know the owners and techs can be quite difficult in the larger MTB oriented shops in the area and you can never really be certain things are being done with the expertise you expect as jobs are passed from one department to the next; at Peak however the shop is part of the sales floor and you can browse for your next upgrade, look at the latest, greatest build from various manufactures and get a walk through of why your chain suck is getting worse all at the same time (or in quick succession and then you can go dream of your next build/upgrade while they fix it). It's also nice to have a consistent staff that recognizes their regular customers and in most cases can recall what they ride down to the individual components. They also have never tried to up-sell me or pushed me towards any particular product or brand I was not interested in. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, helpful staff and an easy to speak to owner that actually rides and uses the products they sell this is the place to go.

Customer Service

PUSHY!!! Every time I went to Peak Mntn (at least 5 times), and I asked for something, Kenny would "suggest" something else that just happened to be in his shop. I hate to be pushed into something I dont want to purchase. They sell Santa Cruz bikes, and when I asked questions about Heckler, which I really wanted, Kenny started talking about "better" solution: Intense Tracer, as a much better bike and it's just happened that he has it in the shop. That wasn't the first time he tryed to push me into purchasing something I don't want, but it was my last time to step my foot into their shop.

I appreciate the help and the effort peak mountain did, especially for the cunningham park, and i will always respect them because of that, but their sale experties I didn't like and living in NYC I have much better choice when it comes to bike shops.

Peak is the ultimate bike shop in NYC. I am so glad it is so close to home. You know what is good about a shop like this, they actually care and they continue to care. It's not like some bike shops where they are nice to you when you buy it and when you come back they don't want anything to do with you. Peak is the opposite, they want you to keep coming back and they are just as nice to you as the first time you walked in. Lifetime tune ups and adjustments. You can't beat that. I ride with him on Sundays and a lot of his customers ride the local trails on his Sunday rides and if you are a new rider or someone that just wants to have fun it is a great ride. I actually stumbled upon this group ride going in by myself and Jerry the nice guy asked if I wanted to join and I did. That day I learned so much that I never thought I would of done, like log rolls and a few jumps. He offers plenty of discounts and also has many sales. Carries top brand bikes and treats every bike like it's their own.

Customer Service

Always number 1. None better. You walk in it feels so homey and you're not pressured or anything.

My wife and I had become disenchanted with the arrogance at another bike shop. Then we discovered Peak. What a difference! Jerry, the owner, and Kenny, his top assistant, enjoy spending time with customers. They obviously enjoy giving advice on selecting bikes and bike components, and are very patient. This is what a bike shop should be!

Customer Service

Excellent! They spent quite a bit of time finding the right stem for my wife's bike to put her in the riding position she wanted. They also spent quite a bit of time helping me select a road bike.

I ride 5 miles a day at a min. I have had a lot of bikes in my life and know how to work on the ones I have. Recently I had one of my older bikes brake and was in the market for a new bike. More importantly I wanted to buy a bike that fit me.

Now on Peak. Great shop and its got that feel. The type of place you can go to anytime and feel right at home. Their knowledge of their products is second to non. Both Jerry and Kenny are great guys and have a sense of humor. They understand that buying a real bike or just buying a bike can be a life changing experience. I did my homework and PEAK comes up all the time and everyone has great things to say. I went there for the first time and talk to Kenny. He showed me a wide selection and talked to me about the type of riding I do. Because I own other bikes he's input was critical in helping me make my decision. I had an idea of what I wanted and by the time I was done with my visit we had it narrowed down to 2 bikes. One definite and one I was thinking of. In the end I went with the definite. Santa Cruz Heckler. They helped me pick the package, ordered it and put it together. Everything else needed they had at the shop. In every case they showed me what they had and I made the decision based on the questions I asked. Never felt pressured, Never rushed. Had more then enough time to go home and think about the decision. I will never buy a bike from anyone else. Oh there is one last thing with every bike you buy they give you a life time free service. Talk about standing by your product.

Customer Service

Answered all my questions every time. When they didn't know the answer they called the manufacture to find out. I use to deal with people all the time and I appreciate someone saying they do not know and they will find out. Usually the easiest way to tell a person is real. Once my bike arrived at the shop they called me and gave me the time it would be ready. I couldn't make it that day they were very cool and said no problem it will be ready at this time and come when ever. Of course I made it the next day but having such cool people at the shop helps make everything smooth.

I live in Long Island and it takes about 15 min to drive to the shop. If it was 45 min or more I would do it. Buying a great MTB is harder then buying a car. A lot of shops just want you to buy and done care about what you want. PEAK is a bike shop for riders buy riders and if you are serious this is the only place to go.
