I have never provided a shop review, but I found "cycle.tim" holding onto a grudge that simply doesn't reflect the quality sales and service that I have received at Revolutions. This is a shop that cares about its customers, goes out of its way to find the right fit (literally), and provides a high level of service. I have purchased a Trek5000 for my more competitive wife and a Trek2.1 for myself at Revolutions and found them to be at the top of the game for sales as well as after sales service. This is the shop where I refer friends and family on a regular basis.

Customer Service

Three examples of great customer service. First, I recently needed some replacement tubes with threaded valve stems - they were out of stock, but a couple hundred were due in by Tuesday. I show up on Wednesday and no tubes were recieved (no worries, I work close by). My wife shows up the next weekend and they give her 5 tubes for me b/c of "my trouble" - great service. Second, a good friend and hard core racer visits our family for the week. Upon hearing that we were looking for a very high quality road bike to rent (and overhearing that the friend is going through a divorce) the shop owner hooks us up with a few thousand dollar bike/loaner at no cost. Obviously not something they would do every week, but that is certainly something you remember. Third, after losing a good bit of weight, the shop offers to refit me to my bike, again for free. They ended up swapping some components and changing a few things around (after all it was 50 lbs, and they wanted to be encouraging). This service alone would cost $200+ at other shops, but it was free here. You can bet I will be a returning customer. I could keep going, but you get the idea.

Similar Products Used: This is a very high quality ship with knowledgeable folks all around. Every person has bad days and makes poor choices from time to time, but I have yet to run into a bad day at Revolutions. Also, we didn't walk in and spend a few thousand, we spent many hours talking through bikes and options (and visited several shops) - the bikes mentioned above were purchased more than a year apart; and, we will keep going back to Revolutions Cyclery for the next one and the one after that.

I have purchased two (his and hers) Trek 4500s with disk brakes, a Trek trailer bike for my son and two child's Trek's bikes and even purchased bikes for my mother and mother-in-law over the past several years. I have been to many bike shops in the area and out of it and find Revolutions to be my all time favorite. I love the selection and the service and it has become one of the few remaining retail outlets, anywhere, that I am loyal to. They are my "go to" gift buying store and I have become known for cool bike-related gifts over the years thanks to Revolutions. In an era of superstores and outlets, it is great to have a specialty shop where I can go for everything bike related. I am treated like a friend when I go in and have been proud to refer many of my family and friends.

I've been to this shop a handful of times and I can't say that I will be going back. I went to the shop when I first started to look for a road bike and the girl behind the counter never even came to greet me or help me out. When I finally went to her to ask for help finding a road bike in the 300.00 range she couldn't make it more clear that I was just waisting her time. I was naive at the time and didn't realize that good road bikes started at 600 minimum. I ended up purchasing a bike from another LBS and spent 800.00 on the bike plus another couple hundred on gear and stuff. something I didn't get from the shop I purchased my bike at though was a jersey. I took the chance and went back to Revolutions because they had a wide selection of jerseys at the time. You have to remember, I was new to the road bike scene so I didn't know how tight a jersey should be. I found out real soon though because as I walked out to ask the sales rep how the fit was the mechanic behind the counter joked on my and said I looked gay. I tried on the other jerseys, found what sized fit best and then proceeded to order the same jerseys on line. It doesn't stop there though. A few months went by and on a local bike ride I was talking to a lady about bike shops and told my story of the horrible customer service at Revolutions. The lady seems pretty oblivious to my complaints and basically shrugged my comments off. After splitting up from the that group I was given a pat on the back from the other riders. Turns out that the lady was actually the owner of Revolutions and I had told her what other's had always wanted to but didn't. Her attitude towards my experience and her lack of concern just shows why the employees at the shop act the way they do. She sets a horrible example and they follow it. I will not purchase form this shop. I will however continue to use them to find out what clothing best fits so I can be sure to order the right size online.

Customer Service

There is none at this store. Unless maybe if you have a couple grand to through down. Then maybe they will pay attention to you.

Similar Products Used: Go to J&S Cyclery/ Bob's Bicycle shop/ Palm Bay Bicycles or drive to Orlando and go to Orange Cycle before you buy anything from this place.

I gave a 3 for tech expertise because I have not had anything fixed there so a 1 or 2 would not be fair.

I recently took up road biking and I've put about 1200 miles on my San Marino so I decided to take it in for its first tune up I decided to go with Revolutions Cyclery in Melbourne because it was convenient. Revolutions wanted $95 for a standard tune-up which I thought was excessive but again based on my tight schedule and the convenient location of the shop I was willing to pay it. They told me the bike would be done on Tuesday (they had it for four days), and an hour before the shop closed on Tues they called to say they hadn't gotten started on it so I should try picking up on Weds they should be done by then. When I arrived to pick it up on Weds they quickly went to work trying to rip me off on extra repairs I should get done right away..."the headset should be replaced because the ballbearings are rusted and dented, that'll run you $65 and, look here this little screw broke off your rear derailleur so you'll need to replace your derailleur too, I screwed it back in but I don't know how long it'll hold." said the Revolutions bike mechanic...Screw is definitely the right name for Revolutions Cyclery...I felt completely screwed, ripped off after I left there and my bike is now in worse condition then when I took it in, I personnaly think they brok my rear derailleur just so they'd have something to fix. I'll never go back to Revolutions Cyclery that's for sure.

It is a great shop with awesome employees. The owners are very friendly and everyone there is extremely knowledgable. They have a good selection of bikes. Not as a big of a selection as other shops i have seen, however they will order anything. The mecahnics are experts and you will never get anything poorly built from this shop. From my experience, this is the best bike shop around.

Customer Service

It is very good, they are always there to help you make correct decisions when purchasing anything from a bike to a camel pak. They tend to take 2-3 days to have an ordered bike built for you, although thats due to the constant business that this shop sees.
