I was walking by to go to a buddies place and stopped by as I needed a new water bottle cage. Super nice road bikes in this shop, very chi chi, so I was kind of expecting an attitude when all I wanted was a bottle cage. Not the case at all!

Customer Service

Super nice guys working while I was in. Looked like maybe 2 guys in the shop and 1 was wrenching. Had another customer so the wrench stops and asks to help. I just ask for a bottle cage and he breaks out about 10 different cages from stupid cheap to stupid expensive (they make $200 bottle cages??!! lol). Other customer was finished so the sales guy took over and was very nice. Rung me out and invited me to go for a group ride with them. Nice shop, too bad I'm not in the area more often.

If you like road riding (I'm not much of a roadie) bring a bucket for the drool as they had some pretty crazy rigs here. Cool neighborhood shop feel to the place, definitely a refreshing change from the big impersonal places and the little "hardcore" places where your riding skill is defined by how much you can drink...there's a place for those too though!
Funny I'm rating them a 5 on technical knowledge but they did know the weight of every cage off the top of their heads! lol

A good shop overhall, they sell hight end bikes, good products. It is well located, the marina is a great place.
But but, you need to have plenty of time.

Customer Service

not that good, you get good advice but you will wait for ages.
The bikes are never done, I waitted 6 months for a stock Turner.
Don't expect a free watter bottles - 6 bikes ahead, all of them worth more than $9000 I am still waitting

City Cycle is the gold standard for road bicycle fit. Even though Clay is no longer with us, his spirit lives on and he has trained the people there very well. I have purchased two bikes there in the last 5 years and the fit for each was spot on. One was a custom and they guided me through that process and have gotten the ultimate machine. While true that they aim at the higher end of bicycles, they will also give you advice and help on alternatives so newbies should not feel intimidated and give them a look. You will learn a lot here.

Customer Service

As noted, fit is everything and they have that covered better than anyone. Very open and receptive when you walk in and won't talk "tech" or talk down. They take good care of customers if problems arise (very few) and fix anything that isn't right for you. Good wrenches here as well, you just have to be prepared to book in advance.

They seem to be transitioning well with the loss of Clay and are working hard at maintaining their rightful place at the top of the bike shop world.

Things are changing over at City Cycle and while the roadie focus is not lost, they've added Charlie (formerly Vision & Cyco) to the mech ranks. Great guy and serious MOUNTAIN BIKE wrench. Charlie, as I understand it, was mentored by the recently passed Clay Mankin, so he's been taught by the best about building a client list and keeping it.

Can almost guarantee that this shop will begin carrying the Intense line if they havent already done so. Have a nice selection of Santa Cruz Turner and Seven MB's ready for your browsing pleasure.

Customer Service

If you dont know someone over there, then might you might get pushed back into the queue so turnaround can be pretty frustrating. Plan in advance if you have the luxury.

That said, everyone on the team is pretty knowledgeable and I've found that free advice abounds (which is a good thing in this case).

This shop deserves a high rating just for bringing Charlie onboard. They are showing a real commitment to their mountain bike constituents.

Overall a good shop. My girlfriend has bought a road bike and 2 mountain bikes from them. Mostly a road shop, as you can tell but the number of road bikes in stock as compared to mountain bikes (about 10 times as many road bikes as mountain bikes). They carry mountain bikes from Seven, Turner, and Santa Cruz- all excellent brands.

Customer Service

High level customer service. The bike builds are high quality, and they spent a lot of time fitting her to the bikes and in showing her how to use the bike.

Shop caters to high end bikes, so newbies may not feel as comfortable there.

In rating, I dinged their technical expertise and overall rating a point each because of the lack of focus on mountain bikes. If this review was for roadbikereview.com, I would have given them all 5s.
