I've found the staff here to be very helpful. Each time I've been they make sure I get what is appropriate for my bike, and they just seem pretty friendly. They know a lot about bikes and about their inventory.

It's a small shop that doesn't have too much inventory. Very small selection of mountain bike goodies. You could get the basics there if you're ok with Bontrager parts. They're mostly set up with stuff for leg-shaving roadies although they do sell Trek mtb's. Again, very basic selection.

Customer Service

Customer service varies depending on who is working that day. They have seemed very eager to please and interested in any questions that you may have. However, there have also been occasions when it seemed like they couldn't care less. I have witnessed the younger employees bickering with each other in front of customers more than once. The girl in her 20's behind the counter also seems put-out if she needs to get off of her stool to get some cable housing or anything else not in arms reach. They DO have good, friendly mechanics though. One that seems to be the mtb guy who helps customers with suspension set-up and another all around mechanic.

I'll reluctantly pop into this shop for basic stuff since they're about a half mile from my house, but I'd rather drive farther and actually find what I'm looking for at one of the other LBS's around here.

Good selection of bikes if you like Trek, Lemond, or Gary Fisher bikes. Good staff of friendly and helpful people. Close to my home so it is easy for me to drop off a bike and walk back if necessary. Good selection of parts and accessories.

Customer Service

Good customer service. I have purchased 7 bicycles from them and have gotten excellent service when buying or servicing them. I now do most of the maintenance of my bicycles but when I visited them for repairs it was always done on time at a reasonable price.

I mostly visit for my road bikes but I purchased my no suspension mt. bike from them nearly 20 years ago and then a hardtail Trek 6700 several years ago. They have always provided good, fast service and they always let me swap my old, beat up Chain Reaction water bottles for new ones.

Both road and mountain bikes. Mostly dominated by Trek (= OK with me). Good shop with accessories in front.

Customer Service

Very service oriented. Very positive. I have dealt with a number of folks and they have all been friendly, knowledgeable, and able to listen to my needs.

I have decided to visit this store more, and other local TREK-oriented stores less.

I was recently looking to buy a road bike after being away from bicycling for about 30 years. I called around several shops and went to test ride several bikes at some of the shops I called. I really wanted to go with a LBS. The closet bike shop to me did not have the bike I finally decided on, and they gave no indication that they would order it for me or offer any kind of discount or purchase incentive. I was on my way to another bike shop across the bay, and decided to stop in at Chain Reaction, since I was on that side of the bay.
They had a large selection of bikes in stock. There was no "attitude" about letting me try different bikes; and, they had a great sale going. I ended up buying a more expensive bike (TREK 5200 instead of 5000) because of their sale and the opportunity to try different models.
The only negative, they charged me to install the water bottle cages on a new bike. I mean, come on, this took less than a minute!
Anyway, I love the bike and would seriously consider buying from them again, but I'll mount my own water bottle cages in the future!
