Strength:

The service is excellent. I had a last minute emergency because I was leaving the next day for a competition, and they took me right away, and fixed everything in less than 20 minutes. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Would recommend!

Weakness:

To be honest, I have nothing negative to say, my first experience was great.

Incredible incompetence of products they are authorized dealers for !

Customer Service

I only went to this shop once because I was interested in a particular trek bicycle ( the 820 ) and wanted more information about it . After asking the sales person for more information about the Trek 820 , his response was what kind of bike is it . OK ! Maybe I was expecting too much from an authorized Trek dealer to know all the models , so I narrowed it down to entry level mountain bike for the sales person . After doing some "research" the sales person said to me that that model does not exist and I must be mistaken about the model . ( I had the print-out from the Trek website which I printed out 2 hours earlier ) . Surprised , I asked if he is sure , to which he responded "YES" , I must be mistaken . I said no , it IS the 820 and it is the entry level mountain bike . The sales person looked again for this model in his "books" and computer and confirmed again that I must be mistaken . I then mentioned that I have the print-out from the Trek website from exactly that very model (Canada site) . He then stated that it was then a discontinued model . I reply that that was quick for Trek to discontinue it so quickly since I had just printed it out from their website only 2 hours earlier and showed him the print-out . After going on-line himself to the Trek website , he found it and confirmed it still existed . I promptly left the shop . I will NEVER buy anything from someone so incompetent !!!

For a Trek dealer to be so clueless about the brand they are an authorized dealer for ... how could the shop even allow someone like that to serve potential customers . I will buy 3 more Treks totaling over $5000.- . and this shop is definitely not going to be the one to get ANY business from me !!!

2 small shops next to each other. One is high end, the other is consumer products.

Customer Service

The owner and staff are arrogant and don't really care what they sell you.
Compared to many of the bottom feeders con shops they don't steal from you.

Buy from this shop only if you know your stuff like a pro. Otherwise try to find an honest shop where the staff know their product line.

Martin Swiss is arguably the best bike shop in Quebec if not all of Canada. No one else is as personal and as friendly as in this small shop in Montreal. they are always willing to giv eyou a hand and the staff is knowledgable and always give top notch service. I've lived and rode in both Western and Eastern canada and have been to a fair number of the top bike shops in both regions. A++++++ Definetly one of the best. Fair prices and top quality bikes.

They never try to force you to buy something that you don't need. They always have the parts you need in stock, and there is always a great atmosphere in the shop.

Great shop with OUTSTANDING staff (usually out-standing around when its sunny i'm sure the boss would say!) Always helpful and with most of the best products and brands anywhere. Saves having to run around to get what you want. Not a huge shop but very well stocked and since ALL the employees ride they make sur all the necessary parts are in stock for their bikes and yours.

Customer Service

AAAAAA+++++++ Friendly, consciencious and honest. I'v never felt like anyone was trying to sell me old stock they couldn't get rid of like so many other shops. Always straightforward, honest, and sincere. Nice to be able to shop somewhere that I know I'm getting advice that's right for me, my riding style and where I ride. Thanks guys!

No other place to shop if you're in or around Montreal. Service and selection are unbeatable. As for repairs, I bought my previous bike somewhere else but had to bring it in 6 times for a ghost shifting problem and it still wasn't resolved. Brought it to MartinSwiss on the recomendation of a friend and it was fixed in minutes never to return (like me to that other shop!) I'v been riding for 15 years and have lived all over but I didn't know what good shop service was until I started going to MartinSwiss. Great shop!!
