Valley stove and cycle - bikeshops

Valley stove and cycle - Bikeshops, wolville, Nova Scotia

this is a great little shop in the heart of the valley, being the only bike shop from sackville to digby they have some advantage in location being pretty centeraly located. The people are friendly, the spot is great and just being there makes you happy.

pretty decent shop, they're much more geared towards XC, road, FR, and DH, so they aren't as knowledgeable on DJ and such, but still try to do heir best.

Customer Service

Great customer service now, in my opinion. Used to be not the greatest, but they've stepped up their game. I've been in there on days that the place was packed; every staff member busy. Within 5 minutes, I had someone helping me, who called over 2 other people. I had 3 staff members helping me out for a few minutes until one had help another customer. I thouht this was really nice, compared to the next nearest shop to me which was basically empty and took 30 minutes for me to get service (Sportwheels).

Anyway, bottom line, great service.

Shop has significantly expanded their facilities and stock on display. Don't see what you want, ask, it may be still in a box.

Customer Service

I've had a few issues with staff in the past year, but have noticed a general improvement in customer services and a significant change in the overall atmosphere of the shop. Make sure that you ask for service from the staff who can best assist your inquiries - you may have difficulty with a skateboarder or stove specialist trying to answer technical bike questions.

Colin has always provided knowledgable and curteous service.

Great bikes, fair prices.

Customer Service

Although I have had less then desirable service from some staff in the past, overall customer service is improving. I suggest that you ask for Colin when dealing with bikes. Hopefully management have taken notice and have made attempts to improve the customer service skills of less knowlegable employees.

Great bikes, fair prices. Poor service.

Customer Service

I have been a frequent customer of this shop during the past ten years and have always been happy to purchase my rides there, and to take my friends there for new bike - until this year. Customer service has declined significantly, maybe due to the loss of some of the more experienced staff. I understand that bike shops must diversify in their products (stoves, snowboards and skateboards also available), but the staff must be knowledgeable, or at least willing to refer you to another staff with other expertise as per the customer's needs. Until last year there were two other shops located within 50kms. I suspect that a lack of competition is not a good thing in this case.

Similar Products Used: There are many other shops in Sackville and Halifax, and Mountain Equipment Co-op offers great stuff at a great price. I have also found Internet shopping to be a favorable alternative to being treated rudely locally.
