With such a large number of bike shops in Adelaide it is surprising how much effort is required to find the right one. Too many seem to be staffed by young guys/kids with little to no interest in my needs, who are just going for a quick sale. There are some good Roadie shops out there but I was struggling to find a good MTB shop. Then I found Mitcham Cycles, good range of gear and bikes and the guys who work there all ride and are enthusiastic about it.

Customer Service

When it came time to look at buying a new bike both Leigh and Nathan spent literaly hours talking through options and ideas with me. Their enthusiasm and knowledge was what eventually helped me make the descision to purchase the bike I did. There was never any pressure and they were more than happy to customise my ride so I recieved exactly what I wanted.

Absolutely great shop, while it may not have the complete range that other shops do, the staff are quite knowledgable which is more than can be said for other shops in Adelaide.
They do keep a good selection of stock in, and are always ready to help.

As a side bonus they now have a coffee machine, and a small bar to sit at while you mull over your purchases.

Customer Service

Excellent, each of the staff there know their specific area of expertise, from Jason on BMX, Leigh on gnarly mechanics and MTB, and even the munchkins with their elite dusting skills.

Great shop, and as a bonus it has a decent sized carpark, which is much more than can be said for most of the City stores. The only store i regularly frequent.

This shop has always got what I need when I need it. They have an excellent range of bikes and equipment. It's all quality stuff as well, so you can't go wrong.

Customer Service

The guys that work in this shop are always friendly and cheerful. As a regular customer, they always look after me and ensure that I ride away with my bike in one piece, even if I bring it to them in pieces.

Easily the best bike shop in Adelaide !
large store full of different types of bikes to suit every type of rider. From the top of the line downhill bikes such as Sunday World cups and Giant glorys, to norco jumping bikes, to united / norco bmx bikes, to a extensive range of cross country bike, road bikes and kids bikes. The store even has a range of electric powered bikes.
Not just the bikes but there is a large range of gear and different parts. So it is more likley then other bike stores in Adelaide to have what you want straight away.

Customer Service

Customer service in this store is top noche, friendly all the time and always giving you the bst advice. Even if it means they dont make such a large sale, it is more important to the boys to make sure your on a bike that is comfortable and right for your riding style. They are are always keen to help you out in anyway you need.
best service in adelaide, in this store your not walking around for ages waiting for service when you can see them just standing around. the boys are always as quick as they can be to service you.

Since the move to their new and current location there has been no looking back at mitcham cycles. They have won the small business award two years running for obvious reasons. They have a huge range of bikes on the showfloor and are always able to order what you require. Parts wise they have a great range, starting from your lower end parts going up to you SRAM XO's and Shimano XTR parts. They stock a good range of different brands of bikes as well as styles and are always willing to try out new brands and products, giving you the latest stuff on hand.

Customer Service

What can i say, between the three guys they have everykind of riding knowledge covered. Whether your have a question about a roadie of your downhill bike one of them will have the answer. They are always willing to give you on the spot bike repair tips to get you back on for free, they really help you if your clueless. The guys are really friendly and are always up for a good chat, bike related or not.

Quite a large store with an extensive range of bikes; from your everyday road bike to your completely customized downhill bike and everything in between. They have pretty much everything you could so desire and a bit more and if they don't have it there's no doubt they'll be able to get it for you. It's run by a great bunch of guys that are all very skilled in servicing and the making of the bikes they sell. They stock a wide range of brands and models that can accomodate for nearly everyones needs. They have a great selection of riding gear, accessories, tools and everything else bike related.

Customer Service

Customer service at Mitcham Cycles is second to none which is why they have taken out the small business award for their area two years in a row. The guys are all eager to serve and are great for a friendly chat. They know basically eveything there is to know about bikes and won't hesitate to go out of their way to help you find what you're looking for. The workshop is visible from the store so there is generally always someone who will be able to serve you as soon as you enter through the door.

I first went to Mitcham Cycles a year or so back because they were my local bike shop and i needed a small repair, since then i have bought bikes, helmets, riding gear and everything else i've ever needed. They have helped me resolve problems involving bikes on many occasions and therefore i have become a loyal shopper. I cannot stress enough how superb Mitcham Cycles is!

This is the shop that was once at the bottom of Mitcham shopping centre. When the fire burnt half the shopping centre years ago, they moved to their new location. Man, what an improvement!! Without doubt a REAL mountain biker's shop. As soon as you walk in, there are products that jump out and say buy me! As well as having the high end products in stock such as SRAM X9 XO, Shimano XT and XTR etc, there is plenty of other stock items to cater for all. I know they sell Scott, Giant and Iron Horse but have also seen Intense, Santa Cruz and Pivot bikes come from there. That's a fair effort! I bought both my kids bikes from here too and their range of children's bikes is also great with its own separate kids room.

Customer Service

Best of all?? Service is amazing. These guys actually ride and race MTB events and sponsor the local races in both XC and downhill. There are always people in the shop and the staff appear happy to talk to them whilst working. Knowledge of the guys is second to none and there is plenty of real experience there. They actually ALL ride bikes themselves!! Friendly and professional.

I can see why these guys won the small business award the last two years in a row. That pretty well somes it up. Pity their website needs some updating, but hey they must be doing something right and obviously work on and ride bikes, rather than sitting on the computer all day.
