Fox Head Striker Helmet

DESCRIPTION

The Fox Racing Striker Helmet falls neatly between XC racing helmets and more freeride-oriented lids to cover that gray world in-between often (confusingly) referred to as all-mountain. Ample back-of-the-head coverage prevents blindness resulting from a crash, and multiple huge vents on top keep you from burning up.

Strength:

Best fitting helmet I have owned. High quality materials and workmanship. I like the extended rear protection - I am getting wiser with age and will gladly carry 50 more grams on my head to same a brain injury

Weakness:

Visor is not very long. In AZ it is nice to have more shade over the eyes.

Solid helmit with good features, design and fit(at least for my head) at a decent, but not cheap price.

Strength:

Airflow, weight, comfort & extra padding included.
Huge vents make riding in 85+ degree temps more comfortable then I thought would have been possible and the airflow through the lid is amazing even at slower speeds. This is a very comfortable lid once the adjustments are dialed in. Extra padding is included in the package.

Weakness:

Rear adjustment, visor does not lock into any other positions.
The rear adjustment for the helmet is a slide tab on either side, I prefer the center hub adjustment like that of a hard hat suspension. Not a huge deal. Also the visor only has one position which it "locks" into.

This is a very light and comfortable helmet with good looks to boot. The airflow is great at even slow speeds, I haven't noticed any "whine or whistle" at speeds up to 40 mph. So far I have used this helmet for roughly 100 miles on both firetower road runs and some light singletrack and I'm pleased with the purchase. It offers slighty more protection to the back of my head than my GFs Bontrager and my riding friends Giro and Bell Helmets.
