Selle Italia Prolink Saddle

DESCRIPTION

Revolutionary in performance, PROLINK is the new-age saddle. The very first to have a "Composite" frame, realized in carbon and titanium, to enhance strength and extreme lightness. Thanks to the innovatory design, PROLINK avails of a "total" cushioning system which enables the saddle to adapt to the shape of the rider and follow his movements during pedalling, thus guaranteeing maximum comfort. The Shock-Absorber system, placed between the frame and shell, eliminates vibrations coming from the road surface.

Selle Italia! Bring this saddle back! Please please please bring it back. The one pictured that is not the many the confused soles below are writing reviews on! By far the most comfortable all day and the next saddle ever made for us with larger sitbones. It is so sad you guys discontinued this masterpiece!

Weakness:

zip

Im sad I cant get another.

Strength:

Shocks, padding, cut-out center channel.

Weakness:

I owned the carbon version. The saddle broke at the screw through the carbon (at the underside of the nose.) Never been in an accident and used mostly on smooth surface.

I would be on it if it had not broken it two. Curved shape is plus or minus. If you have tough perineum and weak ischium it is perfect, if not - the design may work against you.

Supports my sit bones perfectly.
No break in period required.

Weakness:

None.

This is a great saddle. My ass does not experience any soreness after 4 or 5 hour rides. As mentioned above this saddle supports my sit bones perfectly, it is similar to my Spongy Wonder saddle in terms of comfort.

Comfort, looks, price

Weakness:

Slightly heavy compared to other saddles of the same spec

Nice saddle, about the most comfortable one I could find and also the one used most by friends which says something. They is probably a more comfy one out there, but the Pro Link has a nice balance between comfort and functionality. Looks good in black and seems to hold up well to abuse, and being covered in New England mud. Five flaming turds all round for this.

Specialized Body Geometry (not sure who's Body they used but its uncomfortable) and WTB SST (nice but not as comfy as the Pro Link)

This seat was extremely comfortable. When i used it, i would not feel the numbness that I would feet with other seats. Also, it looked great.

Weakness:

The damn seat was advertised as a strong seat. Well, after having it for only three weeks, I managed to snap one of the "indestructable" carbon/titanium rails. When I sent it back to the rep in Canada, Selle Italia was too cheap and stuburn to replace or repair it. They simply blamed it on a faulty seat post.

If this seat were stronger, it would be the most efficient and comfortable seat ever. Also, the company that makes it, cannot stand behind their own product, they have to blame it on other products. This doesn't say much for the seats they produce.

Strength:

very comfertable

Weakness:

it could be lighter wieght, the carbon rapped rails give the appearance of carbon, however they really just add wieght.

i think this saddle would be the best in the world if they would put carbon or titanium rails on it.
over all i think i got my moneys worth.

you yanks don't know how lucky you are -- "only" $80 so you can give it away if you don't like it... Over on this side of the earth i just paid $160 AUD for this saddle, after knocking $20 off the list price. I aint giving it away.

This is the second replacement in two weeks. from the stock Koski, to a san marco shot race, then this (i was after a fizik Nisene, but they are over $200). Very comfortable, travels well on both the mtb and road bike (Giant Peloton 8400). Profile is good for downhill, and the dropped nose allows easy movement back on the seat. No numbness -- firm but fair. I'm so happy i'm going to save up my south pacific pesos and buy another one for the road bike.

With regards weight, given the largest weight difference can be how much you ate the night before (seriously), and how much mud has stuck, then a few grams here is not worth worrying about.

Strength:

-Good looks on any bike.
-The carbon rails are light and stiff.
-There is gel in the right places to allow for comfort.
-It is very comfortable even on longer rides.
-Stiff yet comfortable.
-Even though I am heavy, it is great.

Weakness:

-The coating on the rails is like a sticker which makes the aluminum rails look like carbon, but it rubs off when the seat is repositioned. (This is minor and shouldn't be the point that persuedes you not to buy it).

-Nothing beats this saddle when looking for a seat thats comfortable, stiff and flashy. There is a feeling you get when you blow past riders and all they see is a back of a seat that is so pretty they are ashamed to ride thier bikes that are worth less than this seat. Buy it if you are hooked on sweet looks and performance. Worth the deniro!
