Plush travel, great spring rate, travel adjust is instantaneous
Thru axle is heavier than Fox or Maxle. Not as pretty as the Fox Kashima. Would prefer the low setting to be 130mm instead of 120.
I've only ridden this for three solid rides, but it is OUTSTANDING! I took it to my favorite testing grounds (Rock-It at Aliso). The trail has quick turns, a long rock garden with foot-deep holes, some small jumps, a short rocky climb and some significant trail chatter. This fork KILLED it. I have been running the super blingy 2011 Fox 36 TALAS Kashima and could never get that fork right, even after having it professionally overhauled. To get the plushness I wanted, the Fox would wallow and dive. Add a few lbs of air, and the fork beat me to death. Oh, I weigh 210 and had the Fox at 60psi.
This Marzocchi is the best fork I've ridden. I am running it at 110psi. It feels as plush as a coil on small trail chatter, it soaks up the holes at high speed with complete control and is super solid in quick turns, whether chunky or bermed. The travel adjust is instant. No pulling up on the fork or waiting for it to return to 160. The micro-adjust TST seemed a bit silly at first, but it seems to work as a low speed compression damper. The full lockout is nice on paved climbs. I hope the reliability is there, and I hope the rumors of Marzocchi going out of business are not true. The initial quality is stellar.
