WB have delivered a light-weight, solid (very little chatter - even on down hill hard braking), reliable fork. Steel is an option at $100 cheaper, but doesn't offer the dampening that carbon provides. Who should buy this - EVERYONE. Changing out forks is no big deal! It rides really well, and has none of the harshness that some steel forks I tried had. It tracks and steers great, and does a great deal to dampen and smooth out the chatter and bumps. So far I have no reason to worry about the fork, I aim the bike where I want it to go, and zoom. No problem.

It is stiff in turns and compliant over chatter. There's not much to say about a rigid fork - it's stiff. No knobs, no leaking seals and no sending it off to mfg for annual maintenance.

I bought the rigid because I didn't want to ruin the seals on my suspension fork; Oregon winters will do that in one season. The 29er fork is a damn near perfect replacement. I'm having a blast riding rigid and wonder if I'll even bother putting the Fox back on in the summer. I really can't give a useful "29er" review other than say that it's light yet strong, rigid yet supple, pretty but muddy, doesn't chatter under braking, my friends are impressed, it dropped my bike weight to under 19 lbs and the peeps at WB were really helpfull to get me this fork as fast as they could. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |

Doesn't chatter uder hard braking. | | Weaknesses: | Not actually a weakness, but it's a rigid fork [duhhh] so it's really limited to smoother terrain, unless you're incredibly masochistic. Handles differently than an 80mm Reba. | | Similar Products Used: | Alpha Q carbon cyclocross fork. I was actually pleasently suprised by shock absorption qualities of this fork. It remind me of a 63mm travel Sid on a 26in. wheeled bike, with a bunch better steering precision than a Sid. On rougher terrain, it's a bit overmatched compared to a Reba - which isn't really a suprise
I bought this fork for rides and races that don't require a ton of suspension, and I haven't been disappointed so far. It drops over two pounds off the front of the bike.
